FTC morons should be questioning Silicon Valley and the national IT carriers what they are doing to protect citizens from the intrusions of the NSA listening in on the lines and the FBI listening in over airborne DRT boxes.

So is the FTC meeting with Google and Microsoft as well? Why just the Apple call-out?

Because it gets more media

I'd like to know how to delete the Health app.

Why would you need to delete it? If you think Apple is going to share your data from the Health app don't allow any of your other health apps (e.g. MapMyfitness, Human, Strava, etc...) to send data to it but I'd be more concerned about those apps selling your data than Apple.

lol the government is lecturing Apple on privacy, They violate any chance they get. it's the like the old saying goes that is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Why would I need to delete it? Because I don't use it, want it or need it. Just like any other app I don't use, I delete it if Apple will let me.

Well they don't let you just like they don't let you delete iBooks, Tips, Voice Memo, Notes, Contacts Calendar, etc... Apple deems those as part of the core of their system, whether you agree is your opinion and are entitled to your opinion.

I for one think it is a great addition for anyone who has a number of different health apps to record various bits of data that can be put in one place for quick viewing and analysis assuming they support HealhtKit.

I'm not sure what Apple is doing with iAds, but they certainly aren't selling my data, which is what I care about. I think Apple only cares about some data to the certain extent that they can sell some ad space. Your line about collecting CC data is wrong, looks like you already got called out on that. Apple certainly isn't selling or collecting any of your health data. Much ado about nada.

oh but they are selling you data the same way google does selling it in the sense of they can use to send targeted advertisements. If they sold your data directly that would allow competitor to do advertisements with out going threw google.

Google and Apple both basically are using your data and mining it to sell targeted advertisement. Better the data the better they can sell those targeted ads.
