If they updated the touch with a 128gb drive, I'd probably buy one. It would live inside my car where my current iPod classic never leaves. Nicest thing about the Touch would be the ability to use siri and search for songs easier.

Sigh, that's a color lineup? The first thought that came to mind was, "Ew, fugly, ew."

Remember this? Those were the days. It'd put you in a dilemma as to which one to pick. This lineup makes me wanna count which ones not to choose.

Huh? This alleged lineup has pink, blue, red, black and gray. The only oddball is the champagne gold version. It makes no sense for Apple to throw every color of the rainbow out there as the iPod is a dying product line. In fact I don't get why they would even bother updating it.

I don't know what some of you guys are looking at. That "gold" looks nothing like the gold iPhones, MacBooks, or iPhones.

And disregard all the consumers that would like one?

---

I'd be all for either (1) cheaper iPod Nano or (2) more storage for current price.

Apple makes almost nothing on iPods compared to everything else in their line, killing off the iPods and using those resources to focus on iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, Macs would make sense

There are only two colors here that come close to representing the LGBT pride colors. Luckily I can't decipher the tone of your post to comment any further.

Fortunately I can't decipher the tone of your post either.

Good catch - keeping it honest.

Perhaps there have been more exciting colors in the past, but I love the way the colors align with each other amongst the three models.

Here's hoping the processor of the Touch is brought up to at least the level of the iPhone 5S.

Just bring back the iPod Classic. It's really the only one worthwhile now due to the large storage capacity. Anyone with an iPhone doesn't have a need for an iPod touch and the smaller iPods are useless for storage. The classic was the perfect model used for what an iPod was meant for, storing music and going everywhere with you. No worrying about storage space or shattering a glass screen.

another reason, as noted on apple insider, it depicts iOS 8, with passbook and newstand which will be rebranded as wallet and news. So that suggests the device will ship with iOS 8 which means before September because of iOS 9.

So what exactly is the point of this refresh?

The Touch needs at least an A7 to run IOS 10 (fall 2016). I also expect storage to go up to 128G.

I wouldn't go by that. It will most likely be announced in September.
