Some aspects of Yosemite aside, not really impressed.

There's nothing WRONG with this. its actually quite a good WWDC keynote so far. Lots of features and additions. UI changes, increased choices for how you interact.

It brings iPhone and iOS up to date and a good level of Parity with current generation of software.

is it ground breaking or earth shattering? ehhhhhhhhh

But i'm looking forward to giving it all a run and seeing how the experience is
I like to actually get hands on before I form an opinion

And they will be right. Apple makes $0 on software. Without new hardware there is no new profit streams.

Really? I'm already seeing in my twitter stream people who are thinking of coming back to iPhone because of some of these changes. Everybody knows new iPhones are coming this fall.
