Point Proven
I have yet to see an argument in which playing the age card is an intelligent idea.
AutoCAD (prior to that, Rhinoceros and Blender), Xcode, KICAD, CS4 (maybe 5 later), and Logic Studio, simply because I like to write music.
Happy? I'll also have a fairly large media library and I want to be able to have an internal disk backup for all of my files as opposed to a Drobo or something of that nature.
I'm not some kid looking for the cheap thrills of having the fastest workstation on the planet just to brag to my friends and play Crysis for the pretty.
I'm a computer engineering major with a concetration on hardware systems design.
My point is proven as you ignored the primary reason for my post:
You frequently post on nearly every thread that you read with quick off the cuff remarks that are rude, or condescending that are not needed and do not contribute to the generally positive environment that is MacRumors. You do not have to comment on every thread you read. A lot can be said and learned by the silent observer.
At times you do make positive contributions to the discussions, but those often come in the form of quick/short replies that require frequent follow-up by yourself of someone else who elaborates on your behalf (requested or not). Perhaps if more time was spent thinking about, and properly explaining your statements it would require less follow-up on your part.
Am I happy that you defined why and how you will use YOUR Mac Pro? I could care less. What you do with your money/computer is your decision. We all have our vices.
Lastly, I did not imply that you being young meant you were an immature kid, rather, that I recall being that age and making comments (all be it in person and not on a message board) similar to yours that were not looked highly upon. That is not to say that if you know something about a topic you shouldn't contribute, but rather contribute in a positive manner. (To repeat: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.) You may very well be extremely mature, an expert on all things Mac, and be able to use the software you previously mentioned with skills of others two or three times your age. However that is no excuse to be rude, judgmental, condescending, or otherwise derogatory towards others.
Best of luck to you in obtaining your degree. It is refreshing to see a young person who has such ambitions and goals.
