Is there any trick to get this remote to work? I got it today and no a single key works. The pilot light does blink but it does nothing else. The AppleTV remote works just fine. I have a last gen AppleTV (4K)
Do you have line of sight between the remote and the ATV? Remember that it's IR, not Bluetooth like the Siri remote.

yes, I do have line of sight. No obstructions, like when I use any other infrared remotes, which all work. Thanks. Any other hint?

Not worth it unless you have a samsung tv. It must work much better in Sweden where it is developed.

Has anyone ordered and received this unit from Function101? I am new to Apple TV and while I like it, the Siri remote is not my favorite.

I ordered this one because I thought it was the actual Salt version but apparently not. I am curious if this actually will work or this is one of those rip-off sites.

Thanks!

Yup. I’ve been using mine for a few weeks now. Works great for me and I have no complaints.

How do you trigger the app switcher?
I don't really know. It's not a feature I use all that often.

Have you had a look at their support page with the FAQ's?

Looks like question #5 answers your question.
You will need to use the Apple Siri Remote or Remote App to get into App Switcher mode. When you are in App Switching mode, the Button Remote can close out apps with a double tap of the UP button (located above the OK button)

Thanks. I had not seen an initial reference hence my question. While not a deal breaker it is a more modern feature of the ATV and it could come in handy for some.

Any verdicts on this remote now that is has been a few more months since the last post?

I was thinking of getting one or possibly giving one as a present so I can check it out before I buy one myself. I find the Apple TV remote is so jumpy in Apple Music with all the things it randomly decides to highlight.

I ended up not caring for it. It uses line-of-sight IR rather than bluetooth, so if you don't have line of sight to your devices you're out of luck. Also, I couldn't get it to control both my Apple TV and my Yamaha receiver, so it was useless for volume. It's... somewhere around here, I'm sure.

Thank you. It did have some drawbacks unfortunately.
