Sorry... wondering what are the specs for the stock Mac mini SSD in the fusion configuration. Is it 6GB interface? Whose controller is being used?

I could not find the info via search.

Did you open System Information (Utilities folder) and looked at Hardware > Serial ATA?

Presuming this is a pre-purchase question of course :)

Yes, it is a 6Gbps interface. As far as "controller", do you mean whose SATA chipset is on the motherboard? That I don't know, but you might look at the ifixit.com teardown. It is what it is of course, whether Fusion or HDD or SSD all will use the same controller.

Yes... sorry... pre purchase. Just wondering if the native SSD fusion drive supported the 6Gb interface since the controller is backwards compatible on the motherboard. Sorry, I should have done a better job asking my question.

Not a problem. The "Fusion Drive" is not really a drive - it's a fusion of two drives - a 128GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. Basically the same disks you'd get if you ordered either separately (although they don't offer a stand-alone 128GB SSD option). Fusing of the drives is done by the OS.

I have a Fusion Mac Mini, and a standard HDD iMac and the Fusion is AWESOME. Very glad I got it. Just as an example, Mini is booted & ready to rock in about 14 seconds from power-on; the iMac takes double that.

I am a big believer I fusion drive setups.

I am hands on and put in over sized ssds but the stock fusion is still pretty nice.
