The apple store now stocks the Power Support air jacket. Picked up the white over the weekend. They also have clear, black, and clear black. The lady said they were going fast and that clear was the most popular. It is a nice thin case and covers the entire iPhone. Sells for 29.95 usd.

Ok now can you tell me what a power support air jacket is. I went to the apple store and did a search and came up empty. Pictures would be nice too.:)

Isn't it a little overpriced for what it is? I guess everything at the Apple store other than Apple products is overpriced though.

I bought an Air Jacket today to replace my Caudabe Veil and absolutely love how the clear smoke case looks with my iPhone 5S Space Gray. The ones that sell for 29.95 don't have the screen protector, just the case.

Anyone else wonder why the camera cutout on the one the Apple store sells is so huge compared to the Japanese version?

I suggest you buying from power support website or amazon. The apple store is more expensive.

Amazon is selling the older models (you can tell by if they have the camera hood it's the old model, the new ones have been repackaged without the black circle around the camera)

I will say, the Power support case (white) is my favorite case ever for my iPhone 5S, but I returned it ... The material feels amazing, BUT, it also is a magnet for stains on the corners. It literally turned a light blue on the corners from going in and out of my jeans pocket. :-( Really sad about that. I tried the clear one, and while the fit is superb like the white, it's too smooth\slick, so I will drop it.

Oh well, back to my trusty Speck CandyShell Grip.

That's how they come now. The cutout is the same, but the flash damper was causing problems so they stopped putting them on. At least that's the story they told me when I contacted them directly.

Clear scratches real easy but they're not super obvious. The white one stains very easy. The smoke is probably the best for hiding the scratches. The black scratches if you look at it wrong.

No the apple store versions don't come with screen shield.

Anyone with the rubber black case confirm whether the phone edges scratch (dust etc getting in)?

The rubber black version I had for the 4S kept the phone edges scratch free, surprisingly.

But I have read conflicting reviews regarding the 5/5S version.

The black case scratches but not the phone.

The cutout isn't the same it's way bigger than previous models with the flash ring removed. The cutout is so oversized that I can see some of the metal bezel above the camera. It's not a huge deal but I would wonder if dropped the plastic between the power button and the camera could crack easily.

So are you saying that the black Air Jacket case is not renowned to let particles get between the sides of the case and the sides of the phone causing scuffs and scratches?

It's not really that oversized, you're dramatizing it ... on a speck case it's about the same size, the rubber just makes it seem smaller .. compare side by side.

I haven't experienced any of this... but I haven't experienced it on any case, whereas many seem to have issues. I always wonder how people get so much grit and grime on\around their phone. I take care of my phone like the $849 phone it is.

Me neither (except for the Griffin Elan on the 3G, which was renowned to scuff up the silver edge), which is why I wanted to check whether this case is prone to letting particles get between the case and phone.

It would be pointless putting on a low protection case that's almost guaranteed to scuff up the phone, may as well go naked!

Or wrap the phone in a brillo pad, hehe.

Not really a dramatization. The one on the left is a Japanese air jacket with the flash ring removed, the right is the one apple sells.

Yeah it's called no flash back.

All the new cases are coming with bigger opening for flash problems. Look at the book book. Same as the power support.

I know that I'm just disputing your point of the cutout being the same size if you got rid of the flash ring.

So apple.com sells the $39.99 bundle and Apple Store sells the $29.99 without screen protector?

Does it scratch the iPhone while in the case or the iPhone is safe just the case will scratch?

Sounds to me like just the case gets scratched. My problem is the reports above that say that the clear plastic gets scratched easily. That's what I was afraid of. I'm not paying damn near $30 just to get a scratched up case in a month. Oh well, was looking forward to getting this but maybe not anymore.

Here's my impressions after owning all 3 (black\white\clear).

Black - shows every smudge\grease\moisture 2x as much as most.

Clear - scratches absurdly easily

White - stains on the corners from sliding in and out of jeans pocket.

The bottom line is I returned them, but I think I will re-buy the white one as at least that one I loved the color and fit. I'll just have to try to clean the corners once in a while.
