I think because iOS8 is so developer/plumbing focused, the benefits of running it right now doesn’t outweigh the cons (for me). The coolest features are yet to be implemented because they need to be supported by third party apps, which likely won’t happen until weeks after actual release. Or things like continuity that are reliant on Yosemite. And even there it’s half-baked in these early betas.

I never understand why so many people clamor for a bug ridden beta

I guess I'm just a more patient person. I am happy to wait a few months for the real thing.

Meh I paid $2 to register my phone and I've been very happy with this release. It has some annoying bugs like incompatibility with car systems but overall it's the first release that I most likely won't jailbreak.

Not useable..

My phone (5S) worked well for 3-4 days but is now at a state near unusable.

- Camera isn't working.
- Keypad isn't working (not even in the standard messaging app).
- Most apps crash within 10 secs of using them, 80% of the time.
- Network goes missing inside apps (symbol still shows that my device is connected 3G/4G) and won't return before I restart my device.
- Auto updated apps doesn't download (freezes on darkened out app icon).
- It automatically restarted some days ago and I suddenly had English as my default language (normally Danish).

I've kinda given up on using it at this point, and have started looking for other solutions.

I'm having some issues with my 5s AT&T 32 MB but not to the extreme of yours. When I go to dial a number, the iPhone is staying on the dial screen. I'm losing the predictive text sometimes. But worst of all is if I sync it with my MacPro at home, it goes into the Activation Error. When I go to the Developer Portal, my UDID is clearly correct. I've went over it character by character. Once I re-entered it and it did activate. Another time, I took the iPhone back to iOS 7 then upgraded again.

The problems you have are similar to ones that I have and a hard reboot seems to fix them. However, I'm afraid to do a hard reboot, lest I encounter an Activation Error. I have another iPhone that is on iOS 7.1.1 in my glove box in the event this happens.

I'm not a developer but I'm also not a complainer. I have it installed on my main phone to report bugs, and I'm tech savvy enough to know it's a beta and know that some things aren't going to work. And I know how to go back to 7.1.1 if it bothers me. It's just nice to be able to help out. And I paid to do it.

I will admit and say that i am not a developer but i did register my UDID with the same service that did it for me last year for the iOS 7/7.1 betas and i ran into no issues whatsoever, different this time around. I was able to install and get to the activation page on my iPhone but now it claims that my "SIM card is invalid" and im not able to finish activation due to this rendering my phone is useless. is there any suggestions to get this fixed? im in the process of installing the .ipsw 7.1.1 restore file and hopefully im able to activate my phone with no issue.

By the way, i immediately went to the t mobile store after this happened and we switched my sim card to no avail.

The baseband might be buggy with t-mobile. Cant fix that by downgrading.

Best thing I ever did was remove iOS 8 beta, so unstable is laughable

It won't be till beta 2 or 3, maybe 4 when this is usable for day to day use, then I'll jump back in the beta

I usually like trying out the betas when they are released and I typically don't have too many issues. However after reading more about some of the issues people are having with beta 8 right now I am sticking to 7.
My phone has become very critical to my work and I just can't afford the downtime right now.

The real issue here is people who install the iOS beta expecting to have a fully working version of iOS before the public release.

I guess I expected more. I mean - I can barely use it? Seems like almost all features have been affected one way or the other on my phone, and it keeps getting worse.

I just recently "lost" my contacts. They're gone in my phonebook, but I can still see photos and names of my recent contacts in the multitask view.

Other solutions to make your phone not work well? I'd be hard pressed to come up with something other than using a beta.

To downgrade! ;)
