I'd go for the Infiniti, really because of the quality over the corvette. I hate how GM will share parts between so many different cars. The corvette will have the same head-unit as a similar year suburban. I know they're trying to save money but c'mon.

I too vote for the G35. The interior quality on every Corvette I've been in is really poor. The G35 has plenty of power, they are quite nice and comfortable inside, and it has a backseat to stow items or people. Its a more practical car for everyday driving, plus its still quite a fun car (and IMO its way better looking than a Corvette). Additionally, if you go for the G35 you've said you could get a car that is newer than the Corvette, another plus.

The VQ35 is a respectable engine but you will have to boost it to get any decent power.
And they have a cramped engine bay. Making it not the cheapest to boost.

Pick up the vette. the LS1 is such an awesome platform. Boost that thing and you will be flying:D

I personally prefer the G35 over the corvette.. But if I was in your shoes I would go with the corvette. It is overall the better car, and can be incredibly fast for less money compared to the G35.

Corvette.

That's just for me, though. If you think you'll be happier with the G35, get that. The G35's are nice, especially the newest ones, but I'd still rather have a Corvette. Get what YOU want.

Just my $.02.

My dad has a C6 ZO6, and it's a beast of a machine. But I think the G35 is a more youthful car. I'd take it over the vette...sorry dad.

Vette!

It's like comparing a peanut butter sandwich to a Reuben. (Now if you're eyeing the new G coupe, perhaps it would be another story.)

I owned an Infiniti Q45. Great car until the warranty wore off. Corvette has been the car of my dreams ... since playing with Hot Wheels as a child (from someone who now drives a 2008 Highlander). :D

I absolutely love the G35, that'd be the way I go. I'm still looking at the G37 really hard for this summer.

Infiniti interiors are too cluttered with controls.

...but Corvette interiors date from the stone age.

If a C6 corvette was in the mix, I'd say 'Vette hands down. But the G35 will make a better daily driver, though for that kind of money I'd go German.

I'm a Nissan fan though and I love the VQ35 engine - other than heavy fuel consumption it's one of the best V6 engines you can buy.

go for the G35, boost that bad boy and call it a day!

Good God, no...that thing has good power straight from the factory. Besides, there are enough racing parts available for the VQ engine family that you could build a very powerful all-motor engine if you really wanted to, no need for forced induction.

But why do all that when you could just buy a used M5 and then truly "call it a day"? :D

I think it might just be the back seat that is winning me over.

I have a major preference for sedans myself...for me to go with a two-seater it needs to be achingly beautiful (Alfa 8C Competizione) or big value for money (C6 Corvette). The Lotus Elise or Exige would probably be my first choice for a two-seater though. But who am I kidding? On my wages my two-seater options are the Pontiac Fiero and the Fiat X1/9 (well what's left of one):rolleyes::D

I agree.

Only thing I'm going to miss is the speed. This will be my first import car. Do you think overtime I can make this thing fast. Things like a T/T in it? I plan on keeping the car for a while.

Get the G35 and put a Stillen blower in it. Faster than a stock Vette. Still has a back seat. Still isn't a GM, which is a plus. ;)

So it can outdo the 0-60 time of 4-4.2 seconds for the newer 'Vettes and still be reliable( got to be a lot of boost going into an engine that wasn't designed for it)? A 2004 G35 did a 0-60 time of 6.2. Going to take a lot of mods to even bring it close to the C5 'Vette's performance.

The VQ is a reliable engine that generally responds well to mods. But, however much I like Nissans, if speed is your number one priority then you'd be a fool not to get the Corvette, which is a much faster car for similar money.

If you need a back seat and near-Corvette performance, go visit the Germans.

I am not disputing that. Just will the mods necessary to bring it to 'Vette levels take it to its breaking point.

G35's are slow! I have a 99 Cobra and the G35 doesnt hold a candle to it! Nothing I love more than a douche reving his rice burning G35 (or any rice burner for that matter)at me and then I leave his ass as if he was sittin still.

The G35 looks nice... in my rear view mirror. ;)

oh please. and how much did that Cobra cost? and it might be that fast, when it's not in the shop!

i hate it when people say stuff like this, like all American cars are better than Japanese cars. that's fine if you like your car, and it's fast. that's great for you. but did this guy ask anything about a 99 cobra? i don't think so

I have a G35.
It doesn't burn rice.
I am not a douche.
I don't rev my car at people who want to be faster than everybody else.
I don't need to race people to feel good.

OP: get the Corvette if all you care about is speed.

PS. I'd take my coupe over a 99 Cobra any day.
