If they are not...what will be your recourse...other than anger?

The very fact that they're $100 more than Gazelle would be a pretty big red flag for me.

Almost every single reviewer on there has only 1 review and many of them sound quite similar.

I didn't look into it but I'm not surprised. Probably some dude in Bangladesh with 147 different accounts.

    Pretty much true: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2013/jan/26/fake-reviews-plague-consumer-websites

Gadgetgone.com looks like a very simple childish website. No phone number, no background info, no chance you should trust them. Trustpilot is paid to push these websites. Beware.....

Look into Nextworth. They usually offer more than Gazelle and I have used them over a half dozen times. A little slow, but no issues.

Hey guys! My name is Patrick Haney and i'm the owner of GadgetGone LLC. Just wanted to chime in to give a little info about myself and GadgetGone. For starters and contrary to popular belief I am not from Bangladesh (though i'm sure it's a nice place). I grew up in a small town called Brooksville, moved to Orlando to study business at the University of Central Florida and started GadgetGone in nearby Oviedo a short while later. I totally get the apprehension of selling with us and I know it's a little nerve racking to send your iPhone off to a relatively new company. My team and I take a lot of pride in providing our customers with a great experience and I think that's reflected in our customer reviews. In regards to how we can pay such high prices, that's really our differentiation strategy. Gazelle doesn't need to offer top dollar prices because they are such a well known company. When most people think of selling their iPhone they think of Gazelle; and Gazelle has paid a fortune in advertising to make sure of that. Our customers are generally people who know what their iPhone is really worth and want a fair deal. I haven't checked out Gazelle's prices in awhile but if you're talking about a $100 difference you're probably talking about an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus. Right now those are the models with the highest value and the most room for price variance. Also, I appreciate the feedback on our website and i'll take that into consideration moving forward. We'd definitely like to get a new site soon but custom web design for buyback websites is extremely expensive and there's a lot involved in making that transition. I hope I was able to clear up a few things and if anyone has any additional questions feel free to shoot us an email and we'll be glad to help!

I'll send in my iPhone5 and see what happens. They have offered me $90 for an unlocked 64GB iPhone5. I'll report back when we see what happens.

I sent in a phone to them, they received it on Wednesday, sent me an email saying they received it and that it is in processing/inspection on Thursday and that they were backed up. No word today, I will update when/if I get to the next stage.

So, I heard back this morning. They sent me an electronic check for the full amount offered on their site. (which as OP stated was about $100 more than what gazelle offered.) I was super skeptical when I sent my phone in, and even thought I was going to regret it. Everything turned out great though and I would gladly and confidently use their services again. I wanted to make sure to update this, because I agonized over this since there are very few reviews that seem legitimate online.

    Edit:
To Patrick Haney, if you add a customer service telephone number to your site I am sure that many others would feel much more comfortable trying you out, just a suggestion.

True, and I am a new member (who specifically signed up because of the original post) so of course take everything you read online with a grain of salt. However, if anyone has questions about using this service you can ask me anything. I am not affiliated with gadget gone whatsoever and would be happy to answer honestly.

Hi - I sent in my iPhone5, and got $90 as promised. This was $35 more than any other offer on-line. Services was pretty quick, with email updates, and an emailed check. The check is quite cool. It comes from "Deluxe" the company that produces most paper checks. You can only print it once, for security purposes. So now we have two happy customers for gadgetgone.com.

I also chose the e-check option and had no issues cashing it using mobile deposit from my phone.
