    Patrick Haney,
I have sent in my two phones to your facility and they have arrived at your Post Office Box on 12/4/17. They where confirmed ready for pick- up per USPS tracking. However, since 12/4/17 I have not received any further communication from your staff regarding my phones and payment remittance. I am hoping this is simply a delay in communication. Please advise.

He hasn’t been here in 22weeks. Contact the company directly.

Losing a phone sucks, I have been scammed on Ebay (clearly seller's fault - seller's account was raided and we only got back a small % of what we lost), which is why I refuse to do business with Ebay over a certain dollar amount. I would never give my phone to an iffy company for reasons such as this. Just the fact that there are so many new accounts posting stuff about the company, with photos, set off warning lights galore in my book. Yeah, have a public relations department but anyone can pop out new accounts and say good stuff about a company. Amazon has been fraught with this stuff (people buying good reviews) - not saying that happened here but it is common in the industry.

Hope you don't lose two phones but as someone who completely avoids this stuff, all I can say is your experience has solidified my opinions on the matter. I'll sell my phone back to Apple, but that's it.

Wow is this one sketchy thread, the many new accounts and praising.

I would rather take the risk of selling my iPhone through eBay(even though sellers can get screwed over time to time.)

My iPhone 6 plus was received by your company on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. In your FAQ, you stated:

How soon after delivery will my iPhone be evaluated?
We will inspect and evaluate your iPhone within 2 business days of delivery.

Today, it is Tuesday, December 19th and I have yet to hear from you? Is this a legit company? No phone number and no email to notify me if you have received my iPhone. I sent a message last Friday and I have yet to hear from you. This is making me nervous.....

There is no point in trying to get a response here from that user. Its been over 24 weeks since they last were active on MacRumors. Only thing you can do is contact the business directly.

I actually rcvd my check and finally a reply from Patrick Haney via email. This is his email patrick@gadgetgone.com. I rcvd the echeck option. Called the bank verified the funds before I deposited the check. It has cleared on my Banks end, I called his bank once more for good measure. Everything seems to be ok for me now.

Hey Kate, thanks for the feedback. Thinking of using them to sell back a 6s- did you get the full amount via PayPal or is it better to request an echeck? Thanks!

Coreya, I sent two iPhone 6S, I received a price when checking out that was better than anywhere else. Took pics of phones before I sent them in. Package them really securely, so no damage would occur in transport. Sent them in, choose the echeck option. I had some delays in reply from GadgetGone after the USPS marked it rcvd. This worried me and upset me. Then rcvd communication directly from the owner. He was very understanding and professional. He got me paid right away. I verified funds of the check with the bank, deluxe, and then deposited it. Haven’t had any issues since then. I will use GadgetGone in the future for sure.

It looks sketchy, and so do all the newbie responses in this thread. Personally I just used GameStop to sell my iPhone 7 Plus. They gave me $100 more than Gazelle was offering, but less than I could get on eBay. I don't like the hassle and possibly getting scammed on eBay, so I went with GameStop. Plus GameStop will give you cash on the spot. But don't go in until the end of the day so they have enough cash on hand, otherwise they will have you come back later.

I have had excellent results with Gagetgone--sold 2 phones and a watch, took the e-check route and very satisfied--good place--sometimes takes a week or so

I thought the same thing. I get the apprehension you can choose to do what you will of course. However, I will support GadgetGone strictly from my experience. The internet can easily help grow a business or quickly destroy one. I know if it where my business and someone had a good experience I would want them to say so. As I stated my singular experience was good. I will admit a little rocky in the beginning. Those who aren’t new to MacRumors do not exactly help and are the quickest to criticize due to their self proclaimed wisdom, experience and knowledge. Even though we live in a society where appearance is reality; this isn’t a doctrine to live by. I just want to be a voice that can state, strictly from my singular experience, I believe GadgetGone to be an excellent option against companies such as Gazzelle.

Patrick your words are certainly what people want to hear but the fact is that I am sending you property of real value without any way to know you are not a scammer. I would consider doing business with you when you show me you have set up a way for me to be guaranteed you cannot withdraw or deny me the amount we agreed upon until you provide proof by signed registered receipt my property was returned to me in the same condition I sent it to you and in a timely manner. this process might be a bit tricky for you to accomplish but hey nothing is easy. Good luck.

New account here and I think I just got burned with Gadget Getgone. Sent in my phone 13 days ago and no response. Stupidly I forgot to copy the tracking number on the shipping label they create for you. DO NOT USE this service. Will update if some miracle happens and I get some $$$. Going to report to BBB.

Update: GGG contacted me, my package was slow to get there causing a mini freakout. They made good and I am sorry for causing them any trouble.

    Hi all!

It looks like a lot has been posted since the last time I was here. While I can’t address all of individual experiences/concerns without knowing the specific transaction details, i’ll do my best to address the overarching topic, which appears to be whether GadgetGone is a legitimate company or not.

It seems like one of the main concerns here is the amount of posts from new Macrumors members. The implication being that GadgetGone has either asked customers to post here, or fabricated posts/fake profiles. If I had to take a stab at why there’s so many posts in this thread from new members, my best guess would be because this thread is one of the top 3 search results when you do a Google search for our company. Because of that, I think many of our customers see this forum as an outlet to let other people know about their experience, vent, get a response from us, etc. While i’m all for freedom of press and people giving honest opinions, truth be told, I would never ask a customer to post their experience in a discussion forum. The last thing I want is for potential customers to go on what i’m sure is a rollercoaster ride of thoughts/emotions when trying to decipher all of the information in a thread like this. It’s difficult enough for people to make an informed decision based on past customer experiences without throwing in the open-forum aspect where people who may have never used our service can offer their opinion. That’s not to say that I have any ill-will towards anyone who posted in this thread. I think many of the members here are just naturally skeptical of the buyback business model (which is completely understandable) and are trying to prevent people from making what they think may be a bad decision. What I am saying specifically, is that there would be no benefit in us soliciting or impersonating reviews in this forum. I think anyone who has read through this entire thread and saw the overall light in which it has
painted our company would agree with that statement.

Moving forward, my earnest suggestion for any customers reading this who are concerned about the status of their order or who are unhappy for any reason would be to contact us directly. Our team is dedicated to making sure your experience is a positive one and someone will always get back to you within one business day of sending an email.

P.S. I added our team holiday photo so everyone can see that we’re real people, who hopefully don’t look like scammers (i’m the guy on the bottom right with the bushy brows). The new logo you see on our shirts will be on an updated version of our website that we’re launching at the end of this month. The new site will have an automated order tracking system and live-chat feature so you’ll know exactly where you’re at in the selling process at all times. We spent a ton of money on it but we think it will be well worth the investment and hopefully make people feel more at ease.

GadgetGone is awesome! I did plenty of research to find the right place to sell my iPhone through. They are simply the best, from start to finish. First, They have a simple, easy-to-use, and well designed website which takes much less time to get a quote than ANY other site out there. Most importantly, from a customer standpoint, GadgetGone pays you MORE than any other site. What's not to love about that? Lastly, customer service is awesome and easy to communicate with. Every time we communicated, from shipping information to payment details, were fast and strait-forward. If anyone has any doubt about the legitimacy of this business or if they think GadgetGone is too good to be true, I hope this helps set the record strait. They paid me a fair price for my wife's iPhone and I got my money fast and securely. GadgetGone did exactly what they said they would do throughout the process.
