@Six8 @AppleRobert So, it seems AT&T variants dont suffer from the cell standby and TMO does... Could be something with Wifi Calling or VoLTE.

I have a TMO variant and as of late, battery hasn't been the same. But I'll continue to keep an eye on it,
If that's the case, you should be able to disable VoLTE to see if that is the issue, the phone will switch to 4G from 4G LTE as soon as you make a call. The option to do so should be in the dialer, go to settings, select Call, the Voice over LTE Settings and disable it there. See if it improves your battery life some how. I'm not having the Cell Standby issue, but I'm on a different phone.

I'm on MetroPCS, but they have been using the T-Mobile network ever since T-Mobile bought them out. I'm using the T-Mobile Note 4 as well. So in that sense, yes, I'm using everything T-Mobile offers, just through their MetroPCS pre-paid brand. which is why I don't need to SIM unlock T-Mobile phones to use them through MetroPCS

Equally as bad, which is why they offered a free bumper
it's not equally as bad in the slightest, one is someone not knowing what to do.. to suggest they read the Manuel maybe could have been phrased better, but "you're holding it wrong" to make up for a serious design flaw is a joke...

Just did.

Great.

My battery has been getting better everyday... I'm on TMO and the combination of disabling VoLTE, freezing some apps using Package Disabler Pro ( no root needed) and background app management, I got a 5 hr SOT ( Third day with device and 3 full cycle charges ) yesteday, up from about 3.5 hrs

The cell standby drain was approx 3% between 9 am thru 11:30 pm

Good to hear. I haven't fully charged mine yet though. I'm just over 6 hours usage with just under 1hr and 50 minutes SOT. So far I've used 29%

The thing is I dont want to disable features just in order to get good battery life. I stay here in Metro ATL where alot of people have Volte devices so it works. I will be ok with leaving it on. I hate disabling features, defeats the purpose of having the phone.

I agree, I don't like doing it either... Just hoping the battery will stabilize around 6 hr SOT (if at all) with certain features disabled for now, and then I will re-enable'em one by one.

Yeah i get it, I might test it out for a few days and see if it makes a drastic difference and if it does I may consider it but if not then I will just leave it alone. I just wish we didnt have to disable functions in order to get decent battery life. I guess I am just on this wave from leaving the 6 Plus...I have to leave that in the past lol.

curious, anyone know if TW has something similar to APPSOP in AOSP?

Haven't seen anything really... but then I've been on Nova for a long time now and it's one of the first things I slap on after unboxing and resetting the device on first boot up.

I try not to compare it with the 6+ battery life...it'd be depressing!!

You rest your devices after its first initial bootup? Do you recommend to do this?

I've always done that with cell phones, PCs and tablets. I don't know if it actually does anything worthwhile, but I just do it as a matter of habit lol !

I do the same. I figure that when it boots up its has to boot up all the background apps and services too, so generaly I let them sit for 5 min or so. Great minds......

Wow I've never had issues with the combination of high cell standby time and low SOT. The lowest I got was 4hrs of SOT even when my Cell standby time was high. I usually average 5 hrs SOT. This is my first Android phone that lasts all day without rooting.
