When you say keyboard lag you mean it doesn't catch up with how fast you type ?

Is touch wiz seriously going to tell me what airplane mode does every single time I turn it on? Or that loud volumes could be a danger to me every single time I turn up the volume past the half way mark? Or that AZ button in the app drawer will sort it alphabetically? Every single time? Seriously?
Please tel me there's a way to turn these "helpful" prompts off...

It isnt but cycles is how the life of the battery is rated. This can explain it better.

They are, so hopefully the next one is better but you know, i didnt like the Samsung keyboard. Get the Google keyboard from the Playstore. Its better imo and hopefully that rids you of keyboard lag.
The Google Keyboard imo is better than Swiftkey as well and for me its because i think the Swiftkey buttons are too small and i make more mistakes with it even when swyping.

Yes. Things stutter. Letters don't go on screen right away (both google keyboard and Samsung stock keyboard). Backspacing can cause hang ups too. It'll just hang then suddenly back up rapidly as if to catch up to the number of back space presses.
This is there one that frustrates me the most: three space bar will sometimes just hang after pressing it and suddenly the long press action happens. In Google keyboard it's the "select keyboard" pop up. This wouldn't occur if the Samsung keyboard would stay unchecked but for whatever reason it always magically re checks itself at some random time down the line (but this is another issue/bug all together). In other words, what I'm saying is the keyboard lags and hangs so much that it sometimes think I'm long pressing on the space bar from a quick tap in the midst of typing. It's nuts! And my long press duration is now set at the default 300ms.
If that's not lag I don't know what is.

Yeah it's very annoying. It's ludicrous that we can't turn that thing off. Or any if the other stupid information prompts for airplane mode or Az mode. Seriously stupid. Where is the "do not ahow again" check box for these prompts.
Does it maybe go away after an x number of times? They can't be there forever. That would be ridiculous .... Right...?

Google keyboard is my go to keyboard. There's less lag than the Samsung stock one, for sure. But not entirely lag free. Read my above post where I describe what happens when typing. This is mostly talking about the Google keyboard.

The front facing camera is pretty awesome.
The image quality is pretty good but I've taken a few wide angle shots with several people and it works incredibly well at fitting everyone in with the camera at arms length.
And whatever DAC samsung is using is very good. There's more air and natural sound to instruments compared to my Note 4.
On that topic the new samsung headphones are really nice. I'm a fitness buff and have used earpods because the stay in my ear best during workouts. Well the samsung buds not only stay in the ear but have a full remote and block out environmental sounds better. Bass response is better as well.

Maybe 5.1 to the rescue for the app refreshes.
The battery life was a concern all along, how some are getting good results and others are not I am not sure. App refreshes were the first thing I checked for at BB, a hot button of mine.

Coupled with Samsung's adapt sound technology where it tests your hearing and creates an equaliser preset specific to you - audio on headphones has been a real delight on the S6 edge for me.

Are there any adverse affects to changing all the animation speed and transitions to .5 in the developers settings? Feels faster .... Like does it add to the CPU strain making things animate so fast or draw extra battery to accomplish the faster animation?

This is always one of the first things I do when configuring a new Android device as well. I never noticed any noticeable effects of doing so. Just always made things feel snappier--more so now that Lollipop (and Material Design) have adopted some very deliberate animations/transitions.

Strange thing is ... On the S6 changing this setting, even down to 0x doesn't change the app drawer animation.
First press there is always no animation and every subsequent press of app drawer you have that extended animation.
Its very strange. Prior touchwiz were not like this.

I'm using Google Now at moment, but I'm referring to Touchwiz launcher.
In Touchwiz ...
Changing setting in develop options doesn't change app drawer animation speed at all. Its the same regardless of setting.
First press on app drawer icon on home screen (fresh boot) and there is no animation at all (even with setting at 1x) every subsequent press same extended animation (even at 0x).
Other animations change according to setting, but app drawer animation behaviour remains consistently bizarre despite animation setting.

I found out that as a TouchID user...I was using the S6e scanner in the same manner i was using touchid. Press and hold until the iphone would wake and unlock. This doesn't hold well for the scanner on the S6e. It wasnt me to press and release. The home button on the S6 is multi functional. It also can activate the camera and for Google Now. Try to press and release and see if it works a little better. I think a lot of iphone users might have the same issue. We have to use the S6 scanner a little differently.

Yeah its just strange that its only really my left thumb it really struggles with. I can cope with it just by using my finger, but still strange. Maybe I should;t have sucked my thumb as a child 😀

Same here, in fact Apple used to recommend drain the battery to 0 once each month....they don't recommend that anymore...

They removed completely that suggestion because pretty much you damage the battery a little each time you do that.
The new suggestion is: Charge your Apple lithium-ion battery whenever you want. There’s no need to let it discharge 100% before recharging. Apple lithium-ion batteries work in charge cycles.

Replacement S6 was expedited for free, so should be getting it tonight.
I'm not holding my breath, but I do hope the replacement is better. I still don't believe I have a dud unit, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
I'll post what I find out in the morning. 😉
