I just got my new iMac and i played a game of stracraft 2 last night and the MM is horrible for it, i kept zooming and all this stuff, I know i suck at the game but the mouse didnt help either :p

Logitech Performance MX is great for both gaming and non-gaming applications. If you're more hardcore or like a ton of buttons, may be better to go with a Razer mouse.

If you do go Logitech, do yourself a favor and don't install the Logitech Control Center. Invest $20 in Steermouse.

Hi All,

so as the title suggests i'm after some user feedback for a decent gaming mouse. I've got a magic mouse/magic trackpad set up atm but as (if your even an occasional gamer) you will know this is pretty bad for games, does anyone have any suggestions for a good gaming mouse? for playing WoW and other blizzard games and a few extra RTS's?

wireless/bluetooth would be preferable, to keep with the apple 'style' but for the user experience i guess i could put up with ONE wire lol

thanks
the best mouse I have found is the Razer Naga. it may sound crazy at first, but it has a 12 button numberpad on the side of the mouse. you can have it act as the numbers 1-0, - and = or the numberpad, and you can program the buttons in-game with addons (like bartender in WoW, for instance). it is pricey, but honestly, within a week (or a day, if you're a heavy gamer) of picking it up you will never want to log in without it.. and yes, it has Mac drivers you can download from the website for free regardless of where you get your mouse.

I really wish the Magic Trackpad could be adapted to work well with gaming. You'd think it would have potential, given the gestures and all. Seems like if someone could write a program to map various gestures to different keybindings or something, it could work really well.

There's a program called magicprefs that makes the MM more gamer friendly (in OS X), but I never got used to it... I just hate having to ditch the Apple design aesthetic in order to game.

Razer Naga is my mouse of choice. Even sold my wired Naga for the wireless Naga Epic. I can see how people with larger hands might not like it, but the Epic does have interchangeable side plates to kind of customize the feel. I think it's a great mouse, and even though it's designed for MMOs, it's awesome for FPS too.

Mionix Naos 3200

Don't hear a lot about these but let me tell you I have found mouse heaven here. Plus 3 adjustable settings on the fly with color changing led to remind you. It fits my hand perfectly as I prefer a palm mouse for added control.

The magic mouse is the best mouse for OSX sans gaming. Many people misunderstand its ergonomics. It is a mouse that you don't put your palm on. It has a better ergonomic than regular mouses with tools like BetterTouchTool or JiTouch, because you can accomplish lots of tasks just by moving your fingers, instead of moving your wrist. So do yourself a favor, get used to a Magic Mouse.

I understand Magic mouse designed to be claw type mouse. But even for claw ergonomic, it fails. Whenever i use 2fingers gestures, (scroll up/down or back/forward) the mouse base is slippery. It moves toward my finger direction.

2fingers gestures means 1 less finger to claw and hold onto mouse body. Yet it's not stable enough. You can imagine how unstable and slippery it is for 3+ fingers gesture. Point and click using one finger is OK though

Being that, I say magic mouse isn't good at anything beside attract some chick when u use it at cafe or something :p

I really wish the Magic Trackpad could be adapted to work well with gaming. You'd think it would have potential

Yeah it could, but Steve just wouldn't allow it. He hate games so much. He dOesnt care about "Mac sucks for gaming" propaganda :D
