my 17" MBP (see sig) absolutely annihilates COD4 on high settings spend a little more and see the benefits!

How can you have a 17" that has a 2.4 Penryn? It's either supposed to be a 2.5 Penryn or a 2.4 Merom in a 17"! Just the tech slut in me:D

Not to mention that the 17" wouldn't be noticeably faster than the 15". *Sighs* people really don't even know what they're buying, they just fork over money.

Specs? Not like it would matter. My answer is going to be a no. Macbook Pro is one expensive gaming machine. If you can live with a desktop do it. If portability is key then yes I guess buy the Pro. Thing gets hot and the fans spin at 6,000 RPM so I hope that doesn't bother you when you play video games.

The current MBP is not a good gaming laptop. Don't think of the MacBook Pro as a pro computer at all, it's a kind of super-portable hybrid, it's obsession with thinness makes it extremely hard handle even the current components without getting very hot, meaning that the next MacBook Pros, if following in the same vain, will also have a fairly mundane GPU.

Then again if you're like me and you want a portable and can never bring yourself to buy a PC, what choice do you have?

I go with the MBP by default but it's still a product plagued by ridiculous design choices and a very very poor performance/price ratio.

I disagree. I have a C2D 2.4 Ghz Pernyn 2gig ram 8600 256vram MBP and it games like a champ. In OS X I play WoW on max settings. In Windows I play Tf2, CS:S, BF2, etc. all on MAX SETTINGS.

This laptop runs fine for gaming. I replaced my old Windows gaming laptop with this. I am in the process of converting all ym Windows games to OS Xvia Cider and Crossover so I can drop windows alltogether.
