I’ve read that CarPlay can display a garage door open button when I get close to my house. So far I can’t figure out how. Is there a setting somewhere for that?

You need a homekit garage door opener (or an add-on, like the thing best buy sells for $30 or so)

I installed a MyQ home bridge today and have it all working in HomeKit. I just don’t see anything in CarPlay.

Then it should be showing up. Check in the home App that you have the opener associated with room ”garage” (shouldn’t make a difference, but since apple give us no settings or logs, worth a shot)

Like cmaier said, there is not setting. Just came up automatically for me after installing iOS 13 last year. I was using the Insignia openers from Best Buy but don’t think that matters.

FWIW, that’s also what I use, and it works in my wife’s car.

This has been my experience as well, with Chamberlain garage door opener (myQ system).

I use the Meross garage door controller which is HomeKit compatible, the garage door button shows in CarPlay when near to home.
