You need a homekit garage door opener (or an add-on, like the thing best buy sells for $30 or so)I’ve read that CarPlay can display a garage door open button when I get close to my house. So far I can’t figure out how. Is there a setting somewhere for that?
I installed a MyQ home bridge today and have it all working in HomeKit. I just don’t see anything in CarPlay. You need a homekit garage door opener (or an add-on, like the thing best buy sells for $30 or so)

FWIW, that’s also what I use, and it works in my wife’s car.Like cmaier said, there is not setting. Just came up automatically for me after installing iOS 13 last year. I was using the Insignia openers from Best Buy but don’t think that matters.
Then it should be showing up. Check in the home App that you have the opener associated with room ”garage” (shouldn’t make a difference, but since apple give us no settings or logs, worth a shot)
NoWhy is everyone so keen on using iPhones etc. to open garage doors? Don't most vehicles have wall switches and programmable openers in the overhead consoles?
