Hi! On my iPhone 17 Max Pro (iOS 26.0.1), I ran into a weird issue with converting tunes to notification tones:

I took my old mp3 notification dingdong noise (1-second long) and imported it into GarageBand. After applying a couple of audio tweaks, I went to save. I then go into "Files" app, tap-hold on the newly-created file, and then tap "Share". For the available options, I then tap "More..." and "Save as ringtone" now appears. But when pressing it, the icon outline goes from white to gray and nothing happens. When I exit and go to settings->sounds and haptics, then swipe down all the way, "Ringtones" does not show my file there. What am I doing wrong? (I did confirm this is a 1-second file)

Side note: I had taken a 24-second ringtone file and converted it via Garageband/Share method way yesterday and it didn't have any problems converting or being used.

The other issue I noticed was that, when going to search for a file in Garageband, I tapped on the magnifying glass and then the app crashed. I do have Swiftkey installed, but changing the keyboard order to the iOS built-in keyboard did not fix this problem. Is this a bug or is there a configuration issue on my end I need to adjust or reset?

Thank you much!!

I wish I could help you. I haven't made ringtones for a phone for 15+ years. In fact if my phone makes anything more than a gentle vibration except when I'm watching videos it's going through the nearest window.
