There is hardly any justification for making such a basic software feature exclusive to the newest Pro models. Are we really at the point where Apple has so few compelling reasons to upgrade that it needs to lock simple manual camera controls behind new hardware?
Yes, I know third-party apps have been able to do this for years. But if anything, that makes Apple's decision even harder to justify. This is not the first year Apple has advertised its "Pro" camera systems, and there is no good reason why previous-generation Pro iPhones can't get this feature as well.
Artificial product segmentation like this is simply unacceptable.
