I am... but I'm off on holiday next week, and I want to give Gears2 it's due attention, so it'll have to wait until the end of Nov. And Dead Space. And FarCry2.
You wait ages for a good game after CoD4, and then 3 come along at once

Looks like more of the same to me....I'll pick it up on friday but not for the multiplayer; I want to see how the story turns out. The scale of the game looks like it changed quite a bit....two big games on a epic scale in one week.
I'm going have a lot of unopened games in december....well at least Dec/Jan is kinda dry.
This month is just too much man....another week of double console gaming.

Its funny, we game for pleasure, but when a bunch of new games come out that all look great, its so overwhelming!

yes it does it is not one of the normal Tuesday release games and I am sooo excited.
Also, do you think I will be able to pick it up Friday evening w/o preordering it? Because I am going to the city on Friday with my family and I just wanna pick it up on the way home.

I'd have to say I have way more respect for him than Cliffy-douche bag, because he can hold his own in a boxing ring and proved he's more than just talk. It sort of makes up for the fact that Alone in The Dark is one of the most atrocious movies I've seen.

I cant wait for Friday, Already pre-ordered! I want to pickup Fable II as well. I heard thats another different yet awesome game as well.

No, thats how you make an expansion pack (and even expansion packs add minor gameplay improvements but nothing major, which is what GoW2 did). Sequels are supposed to make the old game look dated.
I see where you are coming from, but honestly, it would be hard to make the first GOW look dated, considering the tech readily available today. There may be slight gameplay tweaks, maybe some graphical enhancements, who knows? I haven't played the game yet, have you?
Super Mario Bros -> SMB2 -> SMB3. GTA3 -> GTA:VC -> GTA:SA. FF10 -> FF12. Wind Waker -> Twilight Princess. There are a lot of worthy sequels that came out on the same hardware. I wouldve liked to see them make the game more dynamic and open ended, rather than just add dumb features like using a "meat shield" and new killing animations.

Personally I don't see how GoW got where it is today. It's an incredibly dumbed down shooter with possibly the most cliched and obvious story in history that offers nothing new at all.
But then again films like xXx and such do well in the US box office so I kinda understand. But part of me wants to try GoW2 if they fix what was broke (or just flat out missing) from the first.
