Typical crappy writing from MacRumors. Seriously, hire some writers with actual journalistic backgrounds, or at least common sense. There is no mention in this article whatsoever of which 2 of the 3 carriers are prepping for the new iPhone.

I can't wait for a better Apple-centric website to pop up with decent writers so I won't be inclined to endure garbage writing like this anymore.

This is a rumours website (clue is in the name) therefore many articles/posts are based on rumours (yeah, crazy!) or hearsay. Create your own Apple-centric website and we can all see how much of a better job you and your site do compared to MacRumors.

Probably if I were to have written the article and, this is all hypothetical, but if the names of the two carriers were not available from my sources, I would state as much in the article just like Apple Insider did: "The two participating companies haven't been identified" (Source). Also, a simple Google search turns up this headline: German Carrier Deutsche Telekom Is Now Receiving iPhone 6s Reservations

Game, set, match. Thanks for playing, Steve.

There's no need for the carriers to be mentioned. It doesn't add any value to the rumour in this particular case. Equally by naming names and revealing sources can get you a bad reputation & in to a lot of trouble.

I own & run (well, not so much of the running anymore, I leave that to others) one of the UK's biggest gaming forums & the sheer amount of legal requests I get from companies wanting content removed/censored is mind boggling.

Once you have set up a website that attracts a huge global user base you will see for yourself.

One 6s plus 64gb for me. I hope they improve the bigger screen differentiation with iOs9.

Consumer Society at its best. While I don't judge you for that, I still can't beat the feeling, - there are much much greater things to be so excited about, and those usually are a lot less materialistic...

But each to his own, they say.

The prediction is pretty accurate, given that I think this will happen:

1. iPhone 6s and 6s+ are unveiled on September 9, 2015.
2. Online preorders and preorders at cellphone carrier stores start on September 11, 2015.
3. Retail sales start on September 18, 2015 in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore--the original iPhone 6 release countries.

What does a September 18 release have to do with September 11?

The September 11 is a PRE-ORDER date. You're scared of pre-ordering on September 11?

I can't speak for the original poster, but i know that I feel sadness along with a lot of anger on 9/11 (probably always will).

I think it's a bad day to launch (or take pre-orders) for a new gadget - just out of respect for the devastation that took place on that day. It has nothing to do with being scared.

I had the same feeling when TiVo announced (or possibly released) one of their new boxes on 9/11. I think it was the original Series 3 box.

Do you feel the same about April 15, April 19, June 6, Aug 6, Sept 17, Dec 7? Lots of horrible things happen on lots of days.

September 11 means a lot to YOU, but those other days had tragic events as well. You can remember it for a few years, then life must go on.

Not sure why I read some of these threads. 90% garbage and 10% realistic information.

Will there be lines? (yea, folks here have crystal balls)

How does doing anything on 9/11 offer "respect" for those folks? You do realize that people die every single day of the year from terrible things, including war, terrorism, hate, etc.? Should we not also respect those people and not buy anything on other days? If only one person had been killed at the Charleston church, we would have probably not heard about it, or would the President go the memorial service. If only one soldier had been killed in Chattanooga, the Vice President would not have been there. Those folks still died.

If you're an American citizen, then 9/11 should mean a lot to you too. If it doesn't, then good for you. Maybe you can find a 9/11 30% off sale day, and enjoy all the discounts you receive.

Life goes on the second a bad thing happens, so that's an obvious statement. Life must always move forward.

A quick search will show multiple "events" that happened on the other dates you mention. Not sure what any of them mean to you, or which event you are referring to, but please don't respond. I'm done here. Either you get it, or you don't. Obviously, you don't.

See my post directly above. I don't want to discuss this anymore. Everyone should do what they want, and be happy about their decision.
