Any other methods then? I don't want to install Winterboard just to get this feature? Also, the toggle in the settings app is missing if gesture is activated through this way.

Gestures on iPad2 4.3.3 JB?!?! how to enable?

If swipe to change apps isnt working disable "show current app" in Switchermod if you have that installed and it will then work.
I cant get it to work. Loaded winterboard, loaded the gesture theme option, picked iPad2 gesture, rebooted twice, gestures do not work>?

The gestures thing in Cydia with the iPad 2 option to toggle it in Winterboard does not work. I am confirming this.
So it's only me who has had the gestures enabled by default right after the jailbreak (iPad 2 16gb) ? I don't have it in the general settings, but they actually work (i can swipe with four fingers to move between apps sitting in background) Please let me know, especially if anyone managed to make the disable/enable MT Gestures menu appear under General settings without using Winterboard.

You need to disable it then enable it in settings to get it to work after using the mtgestures method.

No, it did not work for me. After reboot, I SSH'd into the iPad 2 to check to make sure that the changes stuck. They stuck, but no gesture.

Interesting, since it worked for me. There should be two misspellings, did you correct them both?
If so, did you go to your settings menu to enable the feature? The option should appear in your settings after your fix the misspellings and reboot.
Edit: I am using 4.3.3 with jailbreakme.com 3.0 on a wifi iPad 2
Edit2: Also, I followed the instructions in this thread first, but it was already enabled in my plist file. My plist file also had a different number than the one described in the thread:

I already checked the other plist file, which (like your's) have those states already assigned to TRUE. for this plist, I followed the instruction to correct BOTH instances of misspellings. Even after hard reboot, the gesture option never appears.
