Just ahead of Black Friday, Apple is offering an Apple TV promotion for new and returning subscribers. Eligible customers can get six months of Apple TV for just $5.99 per month.

After the six-month period, the subscription price will increase to $12.99, which is the regular price for the Apple TV service.

At $5.99 per month, Apple is discounting Apple TV by over 50 percent. The deal will be available from November 21 to December 1 on the Apple TV website.

Existing subscribers are not eligible for the discount, nor are customers who have subscriptions billed through a third-party service.

If you have an Android device, check the Apple TV app. I just got a 3 month free trial (and I've already had several Apple TV trials before, through my TV, Best Buy, and others, all for the same Apple account.)

But what if I cancel right now? Will I become eligible to re-subscribe immediately?
If you cancel your subscription stays in its paid state for the rest of the month, so I suspect that the deal won't work. I just cancelled my subscription, it runs out in early December...I'm considering this so I may try it and find out what happens.

Save even more by not subscribing instead.

I'm actually thinking about dropping Netflix. Apple TV is less expensive than Netflix Standard and I'm getting more out of original Apple TV content than Netflix. After the scripted debacle of Squid Games The Challenge season 2, Netflix deserves to be spanked. They are hanging on by a thread because of their cooking shows (e.g. Dinner Time Live with David Chang, GBBS, etc.) and Wednesday.

Extra 15% off if you:

Buy a $100 Apple gift card from Target (starting on Sunday, Nov. 23), Amazon (starting on Fri. Nov. 28), or Best Buy (right now). You'll get a $15 store gift card for that respective retailer.

Use Apple gift card to pay for subscription.

Alternatively, buy a $15 Apple gift card from Best Buy and get Apple TV for free for 2 months for new or returning subscribers instead if you don't want or need this $5.99/mo for 6-months offer.

If 2 months isn't enough, use the $15 Apple gift card and buy another month for $12.99. That's like paying $4.33/mo for 3 months. 🤷‍♂️

Amazon's got the Apple TV $5.99/6mo offer as an addon for Prime users now, too.
Prime video's interface is getting worse, though, so getting it straight from Apple might still be better even if it's not as convenient.

Maybe they are preparing the customers for a new AppleTV (the device, not the subscription)?

Anyways, I think I’ll get this offer of AppleTV (the streaming service, not the device), as it’s a fair price for all the shows that I still have to watch.
