The offer is available in Europe as well. €4.99/month for 6 months.
Back to a reasonable price. Too bad they will move back up.

Unfortunatly I just got three month for free with my new phone so I cant book this. But by than I´ll probably have caught up on everything worth seeing so whatever.

Last year around February I went on a path of reducing my subscriptions to as little as possible and it's been great. Granted I was not a binge watcher anymore for several years at that point. I go to the cinema more often now and buy movies when they are on sale. Saves a ton of money.

Maybe they are preparing the customers for a new AppleTV (the device, not the subscription)?

Anyways, I think I’ll get this offer of AppleTV (the streaming service, not the device), as it’s a fair price for all the shows that I still have to watch.
The Apple TV box right now is called Apple TV 4k, the service is called Apple TV. :D ITS NOT THAT HARD! hahaha. ;D

I got that offer from Apple too.
Not sure I have time for it even at this low costs.
Depends whether Silo 3 & 4 are anywhere near to watch? Don't seem like it.

I have Disney+ and I don’t have a lot of time to watch TV-series there either. I have it mostly to watch
Women’s Champions League.
But I’m rewatching Andor - don’t recall much.

edit: For All Mankind don't seem to be very near any new season either.
So I'll wait for both Silo and For all Mankind before I subscribe a few monts again.
Sorry Apple! I'm not your perfect customer 😉

“At $5.99 per month, Apple is discounting Apple TV by over 50 percent. The deal will be available from November 21 to December 21 on the Apple TV website.”

I’ve read elsewhere that this deal runs through only December 1. May want to double-check and, if necessary, correct.

We see how good things could be if Tim Cook was not holding the company back. That goes for Apple TV and Gaming.

I can understand the TV thing, and Apple sure deserves some criticism for what's happening now (liquid glass, avp??), but Apple has NEVER been gaming focused, even slightly. They are almost a 50 year old company, why would the pivot all the sudden? It's a really tired argument. They don't care about gaming, other than iOS games; they never have, and likely never will. There are AMPLE other places to get your gaming fix.

As for this TV deal, it's alright! ..but there is nothing on there of interest to us (family) at the moment. I don't have any interest in Formula 1, and their MLB announcers kinda suck, plus the over. The only subscription we have is Disney Plus/Hulu, which I get for 9.99 with no ads, thanks to an AMEX perk...otherwise free tv from Pluto and YouTube are fine.

In the past they did care about gaming they even had a gaming console. Plus with market conditions changing they have to care about gaming in order to increase “services” revenue. All other tech companies including ten cent and Chinese companies, are pursuing gaming Apple can not just sit on the sidelines

They absolutely can, and they will. They make a TON of money on iOS games, and don't want to affect that.

I don't know why you brought up the Pippen; it was such a flop that most people have never heard of it and if they have, definitely never seen one. I was heavily into console gaming in the 90s, and I heard nothing about it. I've never physically seen one, nor know anyone that has.

If they want to continue to sale iPads they can not ignore gaming. Mobile and tablet gaming is a growing market. They have to compete with the handheld market and bring more demanding AAA games to the platform. Metal 4 set the ground work for that from a technical standpoint. Now they have to actually invest in studios or workout deals.

Agree to disagree. I don't think they will. The majority of what I see the iPad being used for is video.

It's all moot for me, anyway. I'm not a gamer, in any fashion... the last video game I played with MarioKart, last Thanksgiving.

Apple isn’t going to buy Netflix and Netflix wouldn’t sell to them, anyway.

I think they should just get out of the gig altogether, but Cook wants Apple to be a services-first company.
Or… Just don’t watch it if you don’t like it? So confused by this take. Apple has several of the top rated shows on television and has had a film win Best Picture at the Academy Awards, but they should just shut it down? Why? Because you don’t like it?

Where did I say I didn't like it? I offered no opinion on the content, whatsoever.

I think the content is fine, that's not the point. I don't like Apple being a services or services-focused company, regardless of what the service is. I'd prefer they stick to hardware, the included on-device software, and leave the services to other companies.

Just ahead of Black Friday, Apple is offering an Apple TV promotion for new and returning subscribers. Eligible customers can get six months of Apple TV for just $5.99 per month.

Apple-TV-Color.jpg

After the six-month period, the subscription price will increase to $12.99, which is the regular price for the Apple TV service.

At $5.99 per month, Apple is discounting Apple TV by over 50 percent. The deal will be available from November 21 to December 21 on the Apple TV website.

Existing subscribers are not eligible for the discount, nor are customers who have subscriptions billed through a third-party service.

Not the AppleTV news I was looking for…

Release the updated model already! (Or offer up some refurbished current models at a lower price)

Sigh.

This is an interesting offer but is it worth it to me? The only thing of real interest would be F1 and I have held our buying it since it should go on sale for thanksgiving. With kids Disney+ is basically a necessity, and going ad free as been a life saver. No ads to toys being pushed so my son is happy with whatever I get him.
