Ehmmm no. I make 1 - 2 hours phone calls per day, check and reply e-mails, whatsapps etc when they come in, read news and play occasional Youtub video. My screen is not on 24/7 if thats what you meant. I also have a life :)

Fair point about the life bit. I have a lot of down time in my job. Emergency services....I'm on my phone for hours per day, and it obviously isn't the norm. I forget that sometimes...

Go for the 6+, if your old phone is dying. If money is not an issue, sell it as soon as the 6+S is released. You will only pay a little extra and have an all new phone!

More like 9-10 months before the 6S becomes readily available.

It's often easier to wait until the chaos has died down before getting the latest. In your position, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up the iPhone now.

So you wait for the 6S, then you will say well the 7 will be out soon, so you wait, then you say well the 7S will be out soon so you wait. Either way something will always be better. Get the phone now and enjoy it.

That doesn't happen if you buy the phone on release day. I usually get bored of phones after about 6 months so have an iPhone (September) and Android (April) cycle :p

I think this is the case with many of the tech enthusiast on this forum. Its always exciting to buy a new shiny gadget even though the current one probably meets 90% of the average persons needs.

Get the phone now if you really want it. We can all play the waiting game if we like because there will always be something new and better on the horizon. The current phone is more than adequate for most peoples needs.

This ^.

I wouldn't get any new phone on the market currently as they all have a major flaw. The 6+ would've been a great option if it were future proofed (2gb ram)... but it's not, so I would suggest waiting for the 6S+ this coming Sept.

While I understand your point, 1 GB of RAM won't exactly be a significant bottleneck in terms of a working phone. I do however feel the 6 should have been delivered with 2 GB since it's ridiculous how the phone keeps terminating apps from left and right (some have to do with iOS's memory management).

I suspect the main difference will be that an iOS device with 1 GB will simply not keep as many tabs/apps etc in memory as one with 2 GB. That being said, there shouldn't really be a difference between how the two would perform once you're using an app.

----------

The current iPhones 5, 5c, 5S, 6, 6+ will be history once 2GB 6S releases with PowerVR series 7 GPUs.

Now making iPad Air 2 with 2GB RAM obsolete would be most difficult task for Apple though. :p

I am myself waiting for 2GB RAM phones from Apple. 5S does fine at the moment.

Do you honestly believe that Apple would alienate the vast majority of their user base by doing that? Think again.

This is a really good point. I was interested in the 6, but didn't actually get one until December. I just didn't want to bother with it until it was readily available. I'm not a fan of 3-4 week ship estimates or zero stock in stores.

Same here. Got mine at the beginning of February. Wanted to wait until they were available and with batches that might fix some of the errors we've heard such as TLC/MLC controversy and "bendgate". Also got a 120 dollar discount which didn't exactly hurt.

Hi guys

current situation - HTC One M7 with torrid battery life. Won't make it past 4 hours with light usage :(
not to mention it will brick itself for 3 hours every time I try software update (damn you insurance phone!)

Upgrade is due on the 22nd February, so I ask the question is it worth getting a 6 plus in 2.5 weeks time or should I wait till the next gen phone comes out in September?

What would you do in my situation?
Thanks!
We're in Sept.;wait.
