even worse. It's now 36 monthsExcept AT&T now gives those credits over a 30 month repayment process. So they've locked you into a 2.5 year agreement.

ummm that's the apple upgrade plan ...lol I have used it for 5 or 6 phones now. applecare + and unlocked included. Plus use apple credit card 0% life of the iPhone (because you're going to trade it in 12 months) and 3% backI wish I could just automate my ATT upgrades. Like I've gotten a new phone every September for over a decade, just automatically send me the new one and a box for my old one.
You wrote that very clear and easy to understand.👍 I'm in an exact situation and you just rang every bell for me. 😎I'm on T-Mobile and in a similar situation. I have 8 payments left from the last promo I got on the iPhone Pro Max two years ago. I chatted with both Apple and T-Mobile to see what my options are. According to Apple, I can trade in my iPhone 12 Pro Max for $530. I specifically asked if they cared that there are still device payments from T-Mobile on the phone or if it was T-Mobile locked. Apple said neither matter to them, but I should check on the T-Mobiel side. I chatted with T-Mobile and they confirmed that as long as I continue paying the device payments (part of my normal bill), it doesn't matter what I do with the iPhone 12 Pro Max (and I will still get the promotional monthly credits of ~$18/mo for the remaining 8 cycles).
So what I plan on doing is trading in my iPhone 12 Pro Max to Apple and just purchasing an iPhone 14 Pro Max outright. Since I'm not on a Magenta MAX plan (and don't want to be), T-Mobiles offer is only $500 for me, which is actually worse than Apples trade in offer, AND if I went with T-Mobile I would have to pay the remainder of the device off immediately ($293) before I would be eligible for another promo. Other than changing to more expensive plans, this is the best option.
I have. I'm currently with ATT but will likely swap to T-Mobile shortly for a corp discount. We were with T-Mobile before we went to arts corp discount (which they just raised the prices on).I guess you haven’t had any other carriers. They are still far and above the best.
So the part there that is confusing me is:Hmm, it seems to vary as this is what I'm seeing on Apple's site for trading in a 13 Pro (no instant, all credit applied over the 36 months). Still don't understand how that's $399 total, though as $5.52 x 36 is closer to the $199 which would make sense given it's $999 - $800

Over at Verizon, looks like they may be offering up to $1000 - hopefully details will be available today (including whether early upgrade after 1y of payments qualifies for trade-in/promo)

O
36 months with AT&T. To hell with that, I'll just finance through Apple for 24 months. AT&T SIM locks (or eSIM locks?) their phones as well until it's completely paid off, forcing me to use their roaming plan when overseas.
Indeed, this link seems to confirm that: https://www.verizon.com/about/news/apple-iphone-14-verizon-offers-planSo the part there that is confusing me is:
$999 (128 GB only) - (first limitation - but put this aside for a second)
device payment purchase or full retail purchase w/ new smartphone line on One Unlimited for iPhone, etc plans.
If I understand that correctly, you need to setup a new line with one of those listed plans to be eligible for the "$1000" mentioned.
Honestly, if this is the case, I am ok with it as long as the "$800" is valid for current customers who don't want to add lines.
Does this man
no you forfeit 24 months of bill credits. att is a **** trade in deal. apple is a bit less money but at least upfront without having to keep you in a drawn out agreementso what happens next year and you want a new phone because design is new and they have usb-c? And you are stuck in a 36 month credit plan.
Not only do you forfeit the credits — you also need to pay off the phone before you can upgrade.no you forfeit 24 months of bill credits. att is a **** trade in deal. apple is a bit less money but at least upfront without having to keep you in a drawn out agreement
Hey, so Kudo's to T-Mobile, they called me back around 10:30, walked me through the order, moved up to Magenta Max, ended up with the 800 credit and my bill will only change for around $.84 cents.Complete fail, T-Mobile site and customer service couldn’t get order in saying there are issues and they will call me back. I did decide to upgrade to magenta max as the double trade in credit more than offsets the extra monthly fee of 15 and you get some benefits that I will use like free Apple TV+. Hopefully I can get the order in later today. offered 800 credit on iPhone 11, i believe you get 210 credit upfront and 590 bill credits over 24 months which I’m good with, I don’t flip/flop carriers.
Totally agree been on TMO with a family plan of 7lines since 2005.,I understand that I pay less than the max customer, but I can assure you I've paid more in total than most being with T-Mobile for around 15 years now. It's okay to throw us "old timers" a bone.
