The book explores the first five decades of Apple's history, including interviews with 150 key people who shaped Apple into what it is today, like Steve Wozniak, John Sculley, Jony Ive, and more. The book is launching to coincide with Apple's upcoming 50th anniversary on April 1, 2026.

That price isn't bad. I paged through this Apple book about 10 years ago...loved the minimal design of it all, photos....but umm, $200 was a bit steep to pay for it!

As I still have 'Mac OS X The Missing Manual (Panther Edition)' on my bookshelf and have hardly read a word of it in what must be twenty or so years I think I'll give it a miss as I'd be probably dead before I'd managed so much as a page let alone a chapter.

Completely different kind of book. That was a an art book with a small print run. This is a mass market hardback. $50 is pretty steep!

I’ve read many books on Apple, and have pre-ordered the audiobook for this title on Audible. There was an excellent one that covered Apple after Steve (the title was really similar to that too).

it was available for same day delivery in my area with this discount, but i popped into a local bookstore instead. full price but ~$15 is pennies for supporting a business in town.

and care absolutely nothing about the company and avoid the CEO the best I can

have you ever been in his sphere enough that this is somehow difficult to do? do you work up the hall from his office? i'm somehow guessing the normal course of your week doesnt risk an encounter with tim cook.

Bought the hardcover even though I'm a kindle guy; glad I did, there's a lot of color and photos throughout the book.

I've read the first three chapters and it's good. It's easy to read, fun to flip through, and basically it's perfect for what it is.

Of course you can skip it or wait for sales. Other than the cover, which absolutely sucks... (Can't believe he couldn't get permission to use the right font; David Pogue has done a lot for apple since forever, one would think they'd say yes...)

He states in the introduction that (Apple did not see this book before publication, but did offer access to many of its current executives and designers.)

One would think David Pogue and Apple would be best buddies; "yes you can use our fonts, yes we'll give a free ebook copy to everyone that buys a device for the next month, yes we'll figure out how to make an aluminum book cover, let's have fun and make something stupid because you help us sell macs and we help you sell books."

Whatever. I like it. And the hardcover is worth $40.
