I don't even need to see this video to know it is crap. Why? Simple... the iPhone has a GSM chip in it. It is a certifiable fact that GSM chips do not communicate with Verizon CDMA towers. Period.

This guy either hacked the OS to make it look like it's on Verizon, or he has it communicating with Verizon through wifi to a CDMA phone or something like that. I have no idea. But you cannot just walk around town talking on the iPhone on the Verizon network, no matter what genius is hacking it. No way Jose.

Eh.. I thought I had found a news worthy news to share. My Bad !!! :D

Don't sweat it man. Search these forums and you'll find me arguing the merits of a Verizon iPhone to death on threads from earlier this year. If Verizon came out with an iPhone, I never would have switched to AT&T. I finally did make the switch in August, partly because I wanted the iPhone so bad, and partly because AT&T is making a lot of progress expanding their network here in California. It's still not nearly up to Verizon's level of coverage, but it's finally good enough.

As time goes on it's becoming increasingly clear that Verizon is going a different path with the Storm and all the touch featurephones. That's fine. Competition is a good thing, and the Storm might have just enough parity with the iPhone to push Apple to take their innovation even further. Still, I feel bad for the Virginians and mid-westerners who have crappy or no AT&T coverage and have to put two devices in their pocket (an iPod Touch and a Verizon phone) in order to enjoy most of the iPhone experience.

The bottom line is that if we want a Verizon iPhone, it has to be a different model specifically designed by Apple for CDMA/EVDO. There's no other way. Indications are that it will eventually happen, but probably not for another 1-2 years.

today VZW called me to let me know that if I would like to return to them they will waive reactivation fees. I asked them if they heard anything about the iPhone ever coming to VZW and the CSR said rumors say yes but not until 2010-2012. And speculate it to have a set OS tailored to VZW not Mac.

Ok are CSRs allowed to talk BS to customers!!!!

Yeah and we all know CSRs are in the loop as to whats happening @ their companies

and I really can't see :apple: butchering the OS to cripple it to VZWs liking.
Granted Apple has done a pretty good job so far

if you have verizon get the htc touch pro. its a pretty good phone from what ive seen.

and a cdma iphone would most likely be significantly thicker. and i dont think apple would make a phone thicker than the 3g which is like what? 1mm thicker than the original iphone at its thickest point? i dont see apple going that route. i think the iphone will stay a gsm phone.

Just leave VZW! My wife & I left VZW after 15 years of archaic phones for (2) 3G iPhones and AT&T!
