Actually AppleCare+ does include two exchange for any reason incidents during the 2 year warranty - but you have to pay a fee (I've had to use one of my mine due to cracking the screen)

yes, i'm pretty sure i did.

I must have tempted fate.... I dropped my 42 Sports black on Tarmac yesterday and the screen completely shattered.

I'm shocked at the damage to the screen, it was dropped from about waste high.

Apple wanted £186 for .
'out of warranty' repair (it's 7 weeks old)
I went into store negotiated £100 as I was on file (live chat transcript) as enquiring about AppleCare+ but not going ahead due to scratches not being covered.

Fair play the manager(s) were really good at Apple Store (less so on the phone).

*I could have purchased AppleCare+ online after the event, (I actually was given the option) but this would be insurance fraud and is not recommended.*

I urge anyone with the sport purchased within 60 days to press the button on AppleCare+ or check excess on contents insurance (for accidental damage) to see if it's over £50.00

BTW I baby my apple products.

I have to wait a week now to get watch back.

Also I was told I can't get AppleCare+ on my replacement watch, unless someone can advise on that.?
(Otherwise I now need to decrease my insurance excess to £50 from £200.)

Thanks

I don't believe it's possible to buy over the phone after purchase.

Imagine you don't buy AppleCare, damage your watch and then decide to get AppleCare and claim. They aren't stupid and realise people would do this.

You have to go to an Apple Store so they can check it's not damaged, before they let you buy AppleCare.

I went into the Liverpool Apple store with mine on a Sunday when the systems were down for maintenance and they told me to ring apple the following morning. Did that over the phone and they did not have to inspect the watch.

What are the options for those who didn't get AppleCare, past the 60 days and now regretting it?
I don't know if this is an option but squaretrade offers insurance for iPhones, perhaps they also have a plan for the apple watch.

Thanks. Il check them out as I'm in the UK

squaretrade don't cover Apple Watch at least at the moment.

The best quote I got with £50 excess for accidental damage (on the content insurance for home) that covers Apple Watch is
Allianz 0330 1022 032 do make sure the cover is at least the same or better cover that you have in place at present (my quote was building & content)

Allianz are also the underwriters which is always good I think.

If you have excess of £100 cover then with the initial cost of Apple care+ and their excess then it's not bad. Of course Apple care+ offer two incidence. My excess is £200 at present.

Ps
Also most accidental damage insurance isn't covered for business use as I found out on the John Lewis accidental damage cover for a new Mac Book Pro (I cancelled the cover)

All this UK.

Did you need to supply a serial number for the watch?

Sometimes they seem pretty lax about the condition, I bought applecare+ at the apple store a week after, I had the watch on, but under my coat sleeve, she didn't even want to see it, just looked at the receipt on my phone and sold it to me - I guess they're uninterested in the condition if it's so new.

Just googling and found site called captaincover who charge £3.99 per month for £600 cover with £25 excess.

Will keep searching and check my home insurance too.
