Does version 3.0 address the heat/fan problem that a lot of people (including myself) are having when running Windows on the unibody machines?

What fan / heat problem?

If you mean heat/fan problems on Windows XP then it's because of the NVidia driver never clocking down to 2D low power mode. You can fix that manually via Rivatuner, but Apple should urge NVidia to fix this.
