Literally, best possible post on this topic. All the others (including mine) should be deleted and these recommendations should be stickied and we should just have CarlJ update :)

Let me just emphasize the need for "AppShopper." It's how I get most of my games free or $0.99 instead of $3, $5, even $12. Once you figure out how to use it and track the apps that interest you, you will save a LOT of money (that's IF you are into buying quality apps. doesn't make a difference if you are a cheapskate and only buy free apps :D)

+1 for AppShopper!

Thanks for the kind words, folks :D I'm happy that the information was helpful.

I usually find that even just a little bit of information on why something's recommended helps a lot with figuring out if it's applicable to me.

BTW, when I first got my iPhone (Verizon, delivered a day early), I spent a lot of time poking around in AppAdvice's AppGuides, and found them invaluable. I don't always agree with their choices/conclusions, but it was a huge help to see "here's a dozen popular apps in category X, and which ones we think are best, and why". Also, in a lot of cases, I'd find myself saying "oh, it didn't even occur to me that category X existed -- I must investigate this further :)".

Got my first iPad this weekend. Need some advise on a few apps.

Is there any decent ones for Google Docs? Can't seem to find any. Is there no Google plus app for the iPad specifically? The one I've transferred from my iPhone list is really small on the pad and had an option to magnify x2 to fill the screen, same as the Guardian app it seems.
Also whats the best Facebook app, default seems a tad clunky. Thanks in advance.

Have you found some good app for Google Docs?
I've had your same problem..Can't find any..at least any..worth it. One of the main reasons I bought an Ipad for was being free of interacting with my team while I am travelling...and we mostly use google docs...so if anyone's got a good tip...just put in on the table :):):):):)
