This is pretty much a rant, by the way.

Has anyone else on here gotten teased for using a Mac? At school, I remember I used to get teased for using a Mac because they had no right click button and couldn't play games. My argument was "I've never had a virus". The thing is, now all these people who were teasing me about having a Mac now use them and think they're "cool" and "arty" by using Mac. They're such hypocrites!!

Have you ever had experiences like this?

Maybe, your friends just noticed something about you, that you hadn't?
So, they teased you, without actually calling you GAY!

Just something else to worry about, I guess...

Sleep well honey,

Big Kiss

I've had this happen tons, personally I don't particularly give a ****. Seems to happen a hell of allot less these days however it still does occasionally, we have a guest currently staying at our place who seems to like laying into any apple fan in their presence, it's just irritating and shows them up for being a bit of a moron in that regard.

Opposite here in my school, most people own Macs in my school and it does seem odd when someone is using a PC in school, but in my opinion, they're both awesome :p

Here's a comment some n00b left on one of my Facebook photos:

you pepole and your dumb MAC's.

MAC's are too expensive for regular home usage and theres too many people who buy them because they look cooler which is insane to spend more than a $1000 dollars more for looks

:D

Getting teased for using a Mac is like getting teased for dating a hot girl/guy.

Yeah, because they're so jealous that you're using their least favorite operating system. Believe it or not, most Windows users are not deprived OS X fans or in denial (however ignorant they may be). Not to say macs are not sexy, but in some ways it's more like getting teased for dating a girl/guy with mediocre looks who's actually a nice person. Even though your choice might be the best for you, people are still stupid.

Anywho, point being that when people try to keep you from doing what you want (within reason :), ignore them.

It's just as retarded as Mac fanboys spelling Windows as "Windoze" or using "Micro$oft".

Actually, no. It isn't. ;)

If I'm having a debate with someone and they say "MAC's", I usually don't bother to continue because it shows they don't know enough about Macs to be allowed to bitch about why they "suck."

Agreed. Same with people that say "Windows XP", the "xp" is lowercase:

It's actually superscript lol

Happened to me once, was doing chem homework. The guy ended being quite in awe that I could have my homework, reference equations side-by-side with Preview, an adium convo and mini itunes with dashboard open on top with a calculator and a periodic table and could still see what was going on under...

I don't really care though, it's just a computer. I still have great respect for Linux.

I have to use a mac, I have no choice. Logic pro just WILL NOT run on a windows box... having said that tho... I really do love it...

Back when I was in graduate school ('89 to '91), I had a job as the computer lab supervisor at my college. The "lab" consisted of about 30 Apple IIgs computers as well as a single Macintosh IIci. The IIci became my machine of choice and I did all my work on it, since it was a much more enjoyable experience than my Apple IIc I had at home. The thing was the professor who managed the learning lab next to me used to come over and give me all kinds of crap about using a "toy" computer. He was a real ass about just about everything, and he really enjoyed pointing out the superiority of his Laser 128. I knew he was full of it when he said that a Mac was a computer that couldn't be programmed, it could only work with image files, and you couldn't create a spreadsheet on one. Idiot.

Yes. In fact you can run all 3 of those at once if you want... Let's see either of the other 2 OSs do that!

Uh, it's called virtualization and any machine can do it.

Someone really has to explain why people get so bent out of shape about this, there is no clear cut, one is better than the other argument and there never will be. Every OS out there serves a vastly different demographic and a different need, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

For example if I wanted to game I wouldn't touch a Mac with a 10' pole, but if I want to do some serious video editing I wouldn't touch a Windows machine either. If I wanted a really tweakable OS for tinkering and a very specific purpose I wouldn't choose either as Linux would be a better fit.

Anyone who thinks one > other really needs to get themselves checked out, because they are not particularly bright.

You were a techno weenie, you deserved to get teased for using the superior product instead of the one all the lemmings used.

Of course your friends aren't hypocrites, just weak willed lemmings still following the trends and popular products in the marketplace.

You should be sorry for them, and take pride in the fact that the aliens from the Hulu commercials would call their mushy brains ready for consumption.

Because we're aliens, and that's how we roll.

Can't virtualize OS X on a Windows machine. You can emulate it but that's ILLEGAL.
