They do provide it. Just not in the U.S.
Sure but not in their biggest market to which they provide everything and usually neglect the rest of the world. They are catering to the hometown locals who feel that there is nothing to see outside the Stars and Stripes. Not a very wise move based on reaction so far.

Sure but not in their biggest market.....
Even if they provide it to 1 person, that negates your previous statement of "does not provide".

"They are catering to the hometown locals who feel that there is nothing to see outside the Stars and Stripes."

That's not true at all. Catering is providing what people want.....virtually NOBODY in the U.S. has been crying out for a eSIM only iPhone. What they really want is one less ingress point for water and other substances, to simplify building the phone, and to use that physical space for something else. They're not trying to provide what the market asked for (catering), they're trying to DRIVE the market. They're also in a position where they can produce "whatever" and people will still buy it, no matter what its deficiencies are. That being the case, it's a no risk move for Apple, no matter much I may think it TOTALLY SUCKS.

I hope I can turn off "Dynamic Island"
I hope I can turn off "Always On Display"
New Cameras - OK I guess
Better Battery Life - Great
Customizable Lock Screen - No interest
Unsend and Edit Messages - No interest
Apple Maps - no interest
Sounds like an iPhone is not for you....Android would be better suited I would imagine.

Or....I do have a Nokia 3310 I'd be willing to part with for cash ;)

Why even update? It’s prob the biggest feature. I can’t imagine my watch not having it
I mean I get it, I have it turned off on my Apple Watch, it doesn’t use much but it still does consume more battery that and I’m a bit paranoid with an always on OLED screen and burn it lol

I’ve had my series 5 since day 1 and no burn in. oled Burn in isn’t really a thing with modern panels. They’re designed to combat it. AOD isn’t super necessary on the phone but as far as I’m concerned it was the biggest upgrade the watch ever got

First thing I’m checking out is turning off the always on display! Can’t stand it on my Apple Watch and it should just be blacked out on the iPhone, not dimmed.
It is a choice, so have at it. Personally I consider always-on a huge value add in the AW, but I will need real-world experience before I can opine regarding the iPhone. Let's chat next week.

How are you defining modern? My parents had gotten an LG OLED set back in 2018 and within a year it had burn in from one of the news networks they frequently watched. Was there some newer innovation since then that stops it?

yes LG refined the way the panels worked a lot over the years. My LG CX is 2 years old now with no burn in

That’s fair, I mean I also have an OLED (Sony A8H) and have had it for a year with no burn in but I also try to baby it a bit… maybe I’m being overly paranoid

Congratulations on upgrading to an iPhone 14 Pro! Just pop that SIM out of your old phone and…wait a minute…

It will save me what feels like a hundred taps and tilts every day to check the time, weather, and notifications. And when charging my phone, I will not have to tap to see if it's full yet.
Exactly this. Being able to glance over at my iPhone and see the time, weather, etc in widgets will be so nice.

Turned it off the second I got my series 5, couldn’t stand it. Don’t always need my screen on, I also needed a new watch at the time. And I’m upgrading to it because I want it.

I personally couldn’t stand the AOD on my Apple Watch, I tried it for a month and didn’t like it so I turned it off. From my experience already, I’ll be doing the same thing now.

Sad to be leaving my 13 mini. But my 14 Pro is going to feel like a big upgrade! Excited!

“DyNamiC IsLaNd” what a joke lol. So your forcing me to love what is ******. My iPhone 12 Pro is great. Apple is such a joke without Steve. RIP
