For the simple fact that it doesn't charge past 78%, you should take it back. Let the store deal with it.

Actually, this might be an intended feature. My laptop will allow you to restrict the amount the battery charges to approx 80% in order to extend the overall lifetime of the battery. It's something you can turn on or off in the BIOS. It's worth checking the settings in there (usually you press delete or F2 as soon as the power comes on).

I downloaded a BIOS something-another and now the battery percentage is rising, currently at 81%. And as far as the relationship goes, we get along well the majority of the time but we're both stubborn and have hair-triggers. Ironically, it's the little things we fight about but when major things happen we usually come together. What really bugs me about this situation is I explained to her the pitfalls of purchasing this laptop beforehand but her major deciding factor was that is pink! I'll see how it goes but I will have to get over my annoyance of her trying to tie up 3 computers at the same time. Even if I'm not using my computer it drives me insane. I feel guilty and selfish because I honestly don't think she would mind if I use anything of hers however or whenever as long as I don't break it. Maybe I'm just mad because she didn't get the 11" MBA I suggested. But mark my words, she'll want a Mac before it's all over. I know her too well. It happened with Sony, the iPod touch, and now she wants an iPhone after telling me to get rid of mine. Women!

Not to be sexist or anything but thats 90% of women. Color/Style > Everything Else.

Those problems with her PC are making me shudder and becoming more grateful of my MacBook Pro

I'd just tell her that I don't know anything about PCs. Pretend you've never owned one ;)

Tell her you were on some Tech Forums and the diagnostic solution from people was ... Pink PCs are never reliable.

I would assume your very young if you don't know how to use a Windows pc...

And yeah breakup!

Now she keeps asking me about this and that. The battery won't charge past 78%, something about BIOS downloading, etc. I have no idea what to do. We got in a big argument about connecting her old desktop to the Airport Extreme, blah, blah, blah. Last Tues., it got so bad I bought a bottle of Patron and stayed in a hotel. I have no interest in learning about PCs. The real sticking point is she now has two computers but wants to borrow mine to use while one recharges and the other reboots. Burns me up! I offered to buy her a Mac, anyone she wanted, but she refused. Do I need to dump her? Any advice is appreciated.

And that was another cool story from Bro Incorporated.

Without agreeing on who we are speaking of, I agree. Or he gets his mental abilities measured in single digit age.

I think we may have a case of double trolling
