C4500EE2-C9FE-4D00-9B38-BFDF3F21009E.jpeg Has anyone else noticed that in bright sun their Apple Watch has a light rectangle frame on the screen? I never saw this on my old Apple Watch.

Replying to my post:

Went to apple store. Other screens didn't seem to have this "problem" until I was able to get them in a particular light. A rectangle below the glass (not sure if it is actually a thing or an illusion) is visible on the watches. Mine had a difficult to remove smear that gave the reflection (or whatever) a ghostly appearance.

So...never mind:rolleyes:

What You’re seeing is uneven wear with the oleophobic coating from touching a certain of the display.

Read this thread, it’s a very similar experience to yours:

Thanks for the pointer! At least I'm not alone. The photo in the other thread is indeed similar to what I'm seeing. I can't imagine that in the 5 days since I received the watch that I've removed the coating. But I'll be going back to the Apple store if it ends up really bugging me.

On your thread title , you said this is the ‘Apple Watch 4screen’? Are you referring to being this the Series 4 that you’re experiencing this issue? Or is this a different model?

Yes, it is a series 4. I brought everything (box, etc.) back to store today in case I wanted to get it replaced. I left not convinced that there was anything wrong.

Odd that I didn't have this kind of "ghostly" display on my older watch. Right now I think it is a combo of the way the screen/glass is shaped plus a slight film from grease/oil/life. I'll give it another good look tomorrow.

Thanks everyone!
