Do not buy just for the sake of buying. Save your money. In Stocks you can also lose money, keep that in mind.

Firstly, for the ones to tell him I've had enough. I've already told him there's nothing I'd like, and said he can keep the money, but he is insisting on buying me a present. And I'm also sure my parents respect me, I'm not a kid, I'm 20.

I'm not exactly a stock broker, so I don't really know much about that ;)

The sleeping bag looks awesome... But... No. Lol xD

I have been looking extensively into monitors, especially from Dell, but most of the ones I've seen within the price range offer TN panels, which I heard are.... crap. Unless you know of any that are in the budget which feature IPS panels?

Andy348: I already bought myself a new desk on like the 15th December ;) The HDD is an interesting idea :) New Speakers would be great, but I'm not really a professional in sound, so I don't really know what's good or not. I'll take a look into WYWERN's reccomendation of Swan or Klipsch.

Wywern209: I was looking into getting a 4GB Stick of RAM for my MBP, but it's so expensive over here, it costs about $400 for one, so it's not exactly practical. Any reccomendations on software? I've got VMWare Fusion, iWork etc.

Vistadude: Only one out of them I'd be interested in is the Magic Mouse (already got VMWare Fusion, and don't need new power cord ;) ) and maybe an Apple wireless keyboard. But the keyboard wouldn't be required. Any other recommendations?

iPhysicist: This is why I'm asking for ideas, and analysing them, I don't want to buy something for the sake of it, If I can find something that I'd like to have, then I'd get it.

MythicFrost: He'd rather keep the money and wait for me to find something I'd like. To be honest, if I took the money I'd probably end up forgetting I got it, and spend it on little things like magazines lol.

So any possibilities of recommendations in sound equipment? (Speakers, headphones, earphones etc.)

Thanks so much for all the recommendations so far :)

I would replace that Hard Drive with a 7200 ^_^
As far as monitor goes, I just got the Acer H233H and
absolutely love it. Has 3 sets of inputs, HDMI, DVI, and
Vga. I can have the 360 and the Mini and a Blu Ray
drive all hooked up at once if wanted.
Or get yourself a wireless keyboard/mouse. Just got
them, and they are awesome. Just get stuff you'll
use if you are determined to spend it. Otherwise put
it in the bank or buy some cheap stocks.

What do you guys think about getting a Time Capsule? I can get the 500GB for sure for the budget. And POSSIBLY a 1GB (Ebay is your friend ;)) Any thoughts on that?

Are you into more than basic photo or movie editing? You could also ask for Aperture ($199) or Final Cut Express ($199). If not you could ask the money to be put toward whenever Apple releases iLife '10 or iWork '10 (Probably $79 each).

go over to best buy and actually take a look at some TN panels. i find that a lot of people make unnecessary fuss, in my eyes they are not bad at all

A Dell Mini 10v and then hackintosh it...

This is truly a cool toy and fun thing for a Mac geek. I got one just as a toy, an really really love it!

I was blown away with how easy it was to get snow leopard running on it, and how everything pretty much works!

I don't really use it as a "real" computer, more like a "coffeetablebook", for ichat video, light web searches.

Like I said, it's just a toy...

here's a link with some info... http://gizmodo.com/5389166/how-to-hackintosh-a-dell-mini-10v-into-the-ultimate-snow-leopard-netbook

can be had for < 250 in the dell outlet site.

This is something I was really considering. But I just don't need it. I know I'm being picky, but there's no point, as my MBP is so easy to lug around. :)

I've come to the general thought that an external backup situation may be an idea. I am considering the 500GB Time capsule, however I don't really need the network side of things (Would be better than my BT Home Hub 2.0, due to the dual-band, but I can live) So I have looked into this "Iomega Ultramax 1TB External HDD" With FW800, USB2.0, FW400, eSata etc. It has 2 x 500GB drives in it, so I could set it up in RAID1 (It's a RAID system apparently) which TBH would be perfect for me, as I don't really have a backup right now, I just have my WD My-Passport 320GB which I carry around with me with a few things on it (So no real time machine backup).

What do you guys think of this?

Ok, I THINK I've come to a conclusion.

Option A: I can get AppleCare on the Further Education discount, so it'll cost me £220. So he could put the £150 towards that, and I pay the excess.

Option B: I can get the "Iomega Ultramax 1TB External HDD" I mentioned earlier, this would offer me a great backup solution, which would be really useful in my case as I don't have one ;)

Option C: I sit and wait for something else :p

Thanks again guys

If you don't have any solid form of backups now, than that 1tb would be my first purchase!

no backups?! EEK!

Well,

I sorta have backups. I just don't have backups for my entire system, I just have important files/folders shoved onto my external hard drive.

I actually just called LACOMPUTERCOMPANY, and they said that they would email me the enrolment code for AppleCare, as I know they're a reputable company. So I am highly considering this. It's $275 (Translates into £170, UGH, Damn the recession lolol) So I am highly considering this now, as I can easily purchase the RAID at a later date.

Also, I know I shouldn't do this, but I have emailed an ebay seller (ZOMG NOOEEESSSS) on one of their sales. However I'm asking them whether they'd ship the box sealed, and if not, then I Won't buy. I emailed one guy, he said he can't ship it as "I don't have any boxes". SCAM much? ;)

EDIT: Ok Guys, final choice now.

AppleCare for my mac, or the backup solution?

forget all the other suggestions....get $250 in $1 gold coins, throw them on the floor and roll around like a rich fool. yay!

or get some nice bose headphones...thats that i did and i love them with all my ears.
