Anyone have a virtual PC suggestion for MAC? Don't want to spend a dime if I don't have to but will if I need to. I have to run several virtuals for work.

I have used VMWare Fusion and Boot Camp and for most tasks, VMWare is better since you can just open it in your Mac environment. Boot Camp is there for my stints of gaming.

Well congratulations, young lady. ;)

As for your iWork question, you can export your iWork projects to Office-compatible types. There are a myriad of export options. If you find that iWork isn't working for your specific situation, download NeoOffice. It's open source (free) and compatible with the M$ Office suite.

Thanks for the reminder!

Because you have a choice of screens on bootup, so you can choose which one you want when you start up. It defaults to MacOS and you can set the time limit.

Question whats the diff between bootpicker or just choosing your start up disk
in OS X or Windows?

I would suggest VMware Fusion. It's significantly faster than parallels

It has the nice feature, that it can run a bootcamp installation as a virtual machine with OsX.

That gives u the best flexibility, either start a win direct and fast or run it from osX in vmware.
(and fusion runs other os as well very nicely, beside win).

wasnt it that parallels is better for XP and fusion is faster for vista?

Thanks for posting this. I'm soon to be a girl with her first mac as well and this thread will be great to come back to when it arrives.
