I am a woman with the 6s plus and I love it. I agree with the others that said you should go to a store and try it out before you buy.
As a woman, I appreciate the OP's question and have no trouble understanding why she's asking it. Have wondered if the Plus versions would be too big for my grip - have had a dickens of a time finding a local retailer that has a Plus demo for me to try!
I also appreciate most of the answers in this thread, from women and men. But from certain men, who deride the OPs question in the first place? Not so much.

Girls usually have smaller hands which makes the Plus more difficult to use.Hmmm
Is there something gender specific about the phone? Seems like an utterly silly question. You can do anything you want to do, if you want to do it.

Quite a few posts seem to suggest that those are more in the line of stereotypes/generalizations than reality necessarily.Girls usually have smaller hands which makes the Plus more difficult to use.
My mom has the iRing on her 6 and she loves it. ( Yes, I know my mother doesn't have the Plus version of the iPhone)I am a woman and have an iPhone 6s Plus. I love it. I had the 6 and regretted not having the plus all year long. I have an iRing or similar device I use on the back to help me hold it and it is the perfect compliment to the phone.

i think more girls have it because you can store it a purse rather than your pocket...
