I have big man hands, not tiny girl hands. The slim, glassy iphone feels petite and slippery in my hands. And I don't find the edges comfortable. Plus, I have a small farm and show horses. Glassy phone and farm work do not mesh well. I bought my iphone for its functionality... not its form. So I use a cover.

'nuff said.

Compared to previous iPhones the iPhone 4 feels very fragile. It also has sharp edges which are uncomfortable to hold. It feels more comfortable and robust in a case.

I managed to chip the screen after 3 weeks - even if I only keep it for 1 year it would really bug me having a damaged screen for that long. Fortunately I've now got a new iPhone 4 and it's completely enclosed with case and screen protector.

I agree w/ OP.

Got my free black bumper today. Put it on, used it for a day, and didn't like it. I think it makes the phone bulkier, not to mention ugly as well. It just doesn't go together well with my gelaskin. I'll give it a try for another week to see how I like it.

I can see no protection if you work in a cushy office over a desk all of the time. Others are not in such protective circumstances. Once the phone lust is over and its back to business, the regular hustle and bustle of life is how drops occur and it all depends on where you happen to be when it goes down.

I love the look of the phone, but I don't really like the feel. Its sharp and not all that comfortable in the hand. I'm going naked for now, but only until they deliver my otterbox commuter. Prior to this phone, I used a leather Sena slip case for my first gen and 3gs, but for me, its about comfort.

As we all know, a cell phone's life time is not more than 2 or 3 years, why you have to care some scratches, some dust? iphone4 is so slim beautiful finish, is there any case design and finish which can match iPhone itself? for the antena thing, simply use a bit of transparent tape,Why need a case to make the iphone4 ugly?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That being said I have absolutely no interest in the "looks" of a cellphone only what it can do.

[/RANT ON] Anyone who thinks a cell phone is "sexy," or gets them girls (or boys) needs to get a life or pick up a copy of Playboy/Playgirl or any good movie magazine to find out what the word sexy means. I read people writing about this CELL PHONE like it is the most important thing in their lives. It's only a f'in phone. If it means that much I suggest you Google "Psychiatrists" and make an appointment with a local shrink. [/RANT OFF]

Really? Then why were you raving abo the Caze case which just happens to be clear and the thinnest case available for the iPhone? Usually people that choose those type of minimalist designs want to stick as close to the original design as possible while providing a minimal amount of protection. By being clear also says that you don't mind showing what the phone looks like. After all, you could have selected at least a dozen other cases that hide the iPhone design.

Just sayin' :)

I want a clear case so I can cover up the phone with a skin that has a picture of my Grandchildren on it that I got a month ago. If you look at the pictures I posted you'd see the phone was currently completely covered with a skin with the picture of a computer motherboard on it. On top of that skin I have the clear case. The Caze has been the best clear one so far. Never did I say the case or the phone was "sexy" or "beautiful" or that it gave me sexual arousal, only that it is the best one I have tried so far for my purpose. I am completely covering up the phone so it DOES NOT show. I'd rather look at my Grandkids than a silver apple.

Just sayin' :)

iPhone4 non-case users, suppose a situation comes up where someone says, "I have to make an emergency phone call. Quick, gimme your phone!" Do you hand over the phone without hesitation or will you be reluctant or maybe refuse outright?

"Give me your reason, why have to cover Apple's beautiful design, perfect finish?"

Don't you remember that otherwise you'd be dropping calls? Also, the 'gorilla glass' breaks easier than glass or cheese strings...

You know that flat black frame the screen sits on? Well I dropped it once, just once, and a took a big chip out of that frame. I did some cosmetic surgery on it and filled the hole but I know now that this phone is very fragile compared to the 3G which I've dropped numerous times.

ok, a nice leather punch maybe.

after seeing some pictures of damaged iPhone4, I prefer to get a leather punch for protection, so when I use it it is still naked in my hand.
What do you think?guys

I got my phone launch day and it's been on and off with cases and bumpers for me. I've had a dozen smartphones and have never damaged them other than a ding or 2. At most I've used body skins. The front and back of my phone has been protected since day 1 since scratches are what I'm mainly worried about. If it wasn't for the reception issue I'd throw all the cases away. I didn't like the design of the iPhone 4 when I first saw it but now I hate covering it up. I'd like to know what kind of magical tape you're using :)

a very little of scotch tape, thinking if some kind of glue can be used instead?

and I don't have a deep pocket.

Scotch tape and glue would make it even uglier... Besides scotch tape doesn't work. I've had much thicker skins on the steel band that didn't help.

What I don't understand is why you would care so much what other people do with their phones? If they want protection for the screens or cases so be it. Why does it bother you so much that you have to question what other people do with their phones?

For I don't want to cover my phone, For I think making the cases do harm the enviroment and waste a lot of materials, For I don't want to make the simple thing complicated, For I just want you to think it over.

Wow, seriously?

No "reception issue" here (along with tons of other people).

And easier than glass? I don't think so:

And, I personally use a case. I prefer it.

Ditto, plus I have a family to support and that usually means I do not have an extra 200 bucks laying around to replace it if I drop it.

resale, resale, resale.

if left in near-perfect condition, your next iPhone purchase can cost nothing or benefit you with how high you can sell these things on Ebay.

I'm clumsy. I've dropped my phones (both current and previous) more than once. Luckily, thanks to the cases I've had on them, both were 100 percent fine. Oh, and the two people under 4 who think Mommy's phone is the coolest toy EVER.

The better question is. Give me your reason, why you don't want to protect Apple's beautiful design and perfect finish?
