Given the choice, would you live in Middle Earth or the SW Universe ?

Bit of a Friday discussion going on at work (yes, things are slooow)

Which 'era' would you rather live in, and reasons ?

Middle Earth; simpler times, great looking elves, bit of magic going down

or

Star Wars Universe; tech aplenty, star destroyers, x-wings, Millenium Falcon, Jedi powers

And no, you can live on a Middle Earth planet in the SW Universe as an elven x-wing pilot for the Rebellion :D :D
 
I'd get a nice remote planet in the Star Wars universe AFTER the fall of the empire. That way I'd be safe from having my home blown up and it would be nice to live on, maybe Naboo would be good.
 
I would rather live in the Star Wars Universe on a planet like Mars and find aliens. I don't really want to live in Middle Earth era.
 
Solid question!

I'd definitely choose Middle Earth. I wouldn't want to be an elf (a little to dainty for me, and I don't really want to live "forever") and I wouldn't want to be a wizard. Hobbit's have solid lives, but I'm not really a fan of hairy feet. :)
Rohan was my favorite in the movies and the books, maybe I could be one of the horse riders.

So yeah, Middle Earth, living in Rohan, or a Hobbit living in Hobbiton- but I would have to invent Hobbit socks. :)
 
Star Wars, no question in my mind.

Middle Earth?! Why would I want to lose things like computers, cell phone etc? While SW was a long time ago, they were more advanced then us.
 
Star Wars definitely. Middle Earth is a right desolate hole, filled with fallen kingdoms and decay, and the only stable race amongst them are all buggering off into Teh West taking the wizards with them. What does that leave? Farming communities and ruins. Meh!!!

Give me an apartment in downtown Coruscant over that any day. At least they'll have coffee shops :)
 
I've had countless daydreams of both, but if I had to choose...Middle Earth.
 
Force?

Yea... ME would be all pretty and magical... But its ONE planet... You could totally find something comparable in the Star Wars UNIVERSE! And if you could use the force, well, that's the end of the discussion...
 
Well, I would pick Star Trek, but that was not an option.

I guess SW, as I would love to be able to fly to different planets and see the stars.
 
No question. Definitely Middle Earth.

As for the time frame, I would be more than happy to just be a plain, ol' simple Man in the beginning of the Second Age. There's a good 1600 years before Sauran attacks the Elves and lays waste to Eregion. So I wouldn't mind living somewhere within those 1600 years.

But I would still want to live in Middle Earth, probably with Gil Galad in Lindon even though at this time most of the Edain lived in Numenor in the middle of the Great Sea. A good land, I'm sure, but I would rather be in Middle Earth where there would be ample room for me to have my own little bit of land.

Who says they needed to be primitive. The SW universe could've been a long time ago from time of telling the 'story'. It's an alt universe and so anything can happen but of course who really cares. It's all fiction, it reminds me of all the debates about the various Superman universes in existence and other comic book franchises.
 
Most definitely Star Wars, during the prequel trilogy so I could tell those idiots that call themselves Jedi that the most powerful Sith lord is actually that power hungry chancellor. :rolleyes:

Then I'd steal Padmé away from Anakin, and I'D marry her. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! :D

I already live slap bang between Lancashire and Yorkshire, and I'm working on a game called Tormishire

anywho, probably Star Wars. as long as i could be a jedi. or just some guy who has a lightsaber.
 
Star Wars for me, I reckon. I'd probably spend my days sat on a stone plinth getting fatter and fatter, getting bikini clad slave girls to dance for my amusement. Ace.
