I'd really like a MacBook Pro remade like the rMB (slimmer than current, restyled, larger screen, and more ports than the rMB). I would be my perfect machine. However, you aren't going to see that until 2016 at the earliest, maybe later 2016. There is no way I could live without OS X until then. I use Windows machines at work so I'm familiar with them, I just don't like them at all compared to OS X.

I hear ya something tells me I will be headed back to OS X for sure

But again, I just couldn't resist trying it since it was $529.

This is the first windows laptop I've had since before Core Duo original 13" MB days, give a dude a break for wanting to try whats on the other side of the fence

even though macs very much have good ecosystem integration too, perhaps this will get me to use my iOS devices more than I already do-- leveraging rMini for texts forwarded through handoff and being able to pick up calls on it still if my iPhone is charging in the other room or something like that.

We'll see as always. Using the computer less might be nice actually after staring at a computer all day as a key component to getting my job done.

So I'm going back to RMB. If second gen is way better I'll fork over the difference for that one too.

I already miss too much about os x. Zen book is amazing for the money but I miss the little things and I only realize In the absence of it how useful it is.

Really good build, however

What are the things you missed about OSX or were missing from Windows?

Smoother retina text and scaling, a much nicer screen, seamless pinch to zoom and gestures, backlit keyboard, enjoyable sound vs doable sound, iMessage integration.

Retina iTunes. Damn iTunes looks fuzzy on windows. Preview.

Enabling backlit keyboard or brightness or sound from one button as opposed to function and the f button

So iMessage and Preview are different from Windows and the rest is all hardware. And hardware 1/3 the price at that.

I put up with a lot of crap from Apple to get the integration. If Windows can fix that, I may go back one day. But it will never be to cheap hardware running Windows.

I dunno, I bounce between a bunch too.

The thing about windows is that is a "Tuners" platform. It a good and bad thing. Having control over power to the system, video cards, battery is awesome! However, that comes at the cost of having to remember to switch things back when your use case changes.

Then there is the whole iPhoto/Photos and iMovie package included with OSX. These apps are completely non existent under windows when it comes to their polish and ease of use.

Having a 2015 Razer Blade 14 and a rMB I find myself torn constantly. I love he Blades horsepower! Its hands down the best laptop on the market in the Windows world.

Then again, the only thing I use the Blade for is games and then work while behind the screen. I much rather do my work and any video/photo editing on the rMB. This makes me sad because I want to use my powerhouse laptop for more than just games, but I prefer OSX for my utility work.

This is my biggest issue with Apple. They constantly find a way to be behind the curve just enough to make the upgrade warranted 9 months later. I would buy a rMBP in a hot second with a GTX 970M. Buying one now would be ridiculous because the dGPU is two generations old.

Sigh, I hate you Apple! I love you Razer! Get with it Microsoft! (W10 Looks Good) I love you Apple! LMAO!!!
