Prison soon enough.

I don't get why he would be the one liable. Sure he wrote the article, but that was his job, the owners of gawker are the ones who would be liable since they are the ones who purchased the phone.

I still don't understand all of the hate towards Gizmodo. They are my favorite tech blog. They made the guy famous and saved his job while still leaking the iPhone. I bet that if they didn't publish his name and none of us knew whose phone it was, he would have lost his job. People have been fired from apple before for less.

I can understand some of that hatred, but I don't get when that hatred is directed to the writer of the article. Gawker is the one who paid for the phone. I myself don't really hate gizmodo, but I'm more a fan of engadgets writing style. I also don't really go to gizmodo that much anymore, but it's actually because of their hardon for apple. I remember when someone on the apple board had passed away and the headline to the story was "Steve jobs is sad today" and it wasn't until the second paragraph that they actually mentioned that guys name. They also tend to sensationalize alot, though there are still good articles from time to time so I still hit them up, but I definately check out engadget and boy genius report before I hit up gizmodo.

I guess it is nice to know that if I misplace my iPad I can report it stolen and have it covered under my warranty.

I think the whole thing is ridiculous. Probably 90% of the people who hate Gizmodo now for "breaking the law" were probably ogling the pictures and sending the links around when it was first published.

I personally don't hate Gawker and in fact visit several times a day. However they do continuously spew exaggerated/sensationalist/inaccurate/repetitive/self congratulatory iPhone 4 articles, one after the other. I bet they average over 6 iPhone 4 articles a day, every day and that is far too many.

Posting a thread titled "Gizmodo's latest Apple story" is sure to be outdated title before you get 2 replies.:D

Hey, look I made it until 11 before it got outdated, gizmodo must be slacking today. :D

Amazing how some fanboys are not only willing to put up with a faulty antenna, but also have no qualm about spending $29 to fix a problem that shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Simply amazing.
