We just use iPod touches with the Harmony Hubs. It's flawless. Plus I can get emails from it and air drop to various speakers around the house.

For some reason I don't care for using the phone to control the TV. It's nice to have in a pinch but I can't get used to it on a regular basis. We use a universal remote. I hope the next one has HDMI control.

I love the aluminum remote. It's so light and sits so comfortably in my hand. It's buttons are perfectly tactile and large enough to feel for without looking but small enough to not get in the way. I also love how simple it is. No extra buttons at all.

I really really hope the new remote isn't all touch-based or huge.

Though, I wouldn't mind if they made the remote BT with a mic and an audio-out like on the Roku.
I really like the ergonomics of the Roke remote. It doesn't fall in the couch cushions as easily and not having to need line of site is pretty handy.

I love my Amazon Fire TV. I use it every day, I got it for my birthday and looked at ALL the options, I disregarded the Apple TV because of its outdated specs and a couple of other reasons like Prime, and my tablet and phone connect to my Fire TV fine.
I also like what Apple is doing as it is helping cable company's offer streaming only subscriptions which is what we want, and they are being offered on all platforms.
Yeah been very impressed I have, I have Kodi on it too but only for soke American shows I can't get like Dark Matter.

When my boxie box quit working, I replaced it with an Apple TV. I found it to be so limiting that I tossed it in a drawer about three weeks later, and bought a generic Android TV box. If Apple allowed playing mp4 from memory cards then it would be worth while.
