Glitch on MBP Retina screen

I was just working on my MBP-R and menu bar went black. Restarted and it went away. Anyone know what is it?

This looks like Tiger. Looks like, OP, what OS version is this? Also, what did you do just before it happened?

There is a Notification Centre icon on the right side, so it's either ML or Mavericks.

I'd chalk it up to a glitch in the OS, especially if came back after a reboot AND there's no other graphical anomalies.

I've had it happen to me a few times myself... It's just a glitch in the OS. Actually, though, I can't remember it happening in the Yosemite DP, so it could be fixed with forthcoming updates

Yup, hard to differentiate given the "black" bar.

I haven't see it occur on my MBP, but as others stated, its probably a glitch. I'd probably freak out myself if I saw it occur 😱
