I moved over from a 4S to 5S today and lost my Gmail push in the process. What a joke. The iCloud workaround isn't working either.

It is INSANE that companies as big as Google and Apple cannot do what is right here and continue to offer push email for the consumer. Outlook.com here I come!

Google stopped offering push to new iPhones. This means even if you make a configuration change or an iOS update, push will stop working. The only way to have gmail push on iPhone is by using their application.

Everyone keeps saying this. I have signed up for a new gmail account. Added it to the ios email app. And my emails come through immediately. As if they were being pushed. Not fetch. So i dont know what the problem is with everyone else' account. And i do not have to use the gmail app to do so.

Do you mind sharing your settings for this? I had it set up as Exchange with Push on my 4S but had to move to the regular Gmail setup with Fetch. Thanks!

I really did not fool around with the settings. I have an email that i used whenever i had an android device. And i decided to use it on my apple device. Seems like i have little to no issue with that. I tested it by signing in to my old htc with my google username, cause i know it is push or immediate with an android and gmail. Anyhow both my iphone and android device signed into the same email address at the same time, get any emails sent to me at the same time. So all my push email that i see on my htc one, shows up instantly on my iphone also. So i dont know. But honestly i don't use email that much that i need it to push out immediately.
