Hi all, randomly the other day my Gmail app which is up to date stopped pushing notifications to me. I would have to go into the app and then my emails would be there, but no badges or notifications. I checked all settings to make sure it was all turned on. I tried some basic troubleshooting to see if any issues were caused and nothing. I am running the ios public beta 12.1 beta 3. I've never had an issue in all the betas I've been a part of and not sure what's causing the issues now, but it's important I get those notifications for work. Any ideas or advice?

I’m on 12.0.1 and push for Gmail is working normally on my device. If you’re sure it’s not the beta causing the problem you could try to delete and re-add the account to see if it helps
Native. If you’re using the Gmail app it’s possible you may need to wait for an update from google for 12.1
Ok. I’m using the native app and not getting push. I actually missed some important emails by not having push. I HATE using the Gmail app.
I totally agree, I’ve never used the app. I’d try and delete and re-add like I said. You won’t lose anything and it’s worth a try
When you’re adding Gmail are you adding Add account> Google or adding it by other means?
Fetch is a lot different than Push. Fetch you need to be on WiFi and doesn’t work when you’re on cellular data I believe?
Do you have mail turned on in cellular?

I receive notifications for email when on cellular also. I won’t use public wifi so when I’m out watching hockey I’m on cellular
So I am using the Gmail app. Have never had an issue. Even on 12.1 beta before I updated to 12.1 3. I've tried deleting and reinstalling. Deleting my account and re adding. Nothing seems to fix it. I've missed some important emails as well.

If you’re using the actual app and only have issues after beta 3 I’d say google will most likely be releasing an update for 12.1 in the future.. I’m not familiar with using betas but, can you downgrade to beta 2 to see if it fixes it?
It happened before the update to 3 though. I was using 12.1 for a week+ and didn't have issues. It started when my work email was shut down (starting a new job Monday) but my personal email and work email all went through the Gmail app and now that it's gone I'm not getting notifications for some reason.
Have you logged in to the account through safari and checked to see if any of the settings have changed?
I am logged in through safari right now on gmail and all seems to be working no issues. Don't see any reason why I wouldn't be getting notifications.

That's so weird! I have all my notifications settings turned on too in both the actual gmail app and then under the settings part of the app too. I checked my profiles and the only profile I have on there is the beta profile.
GMAIL by native app hasn't pushed on the iPhone in a long time. Actually since 2013 that Google stopped supporting people with free accounts on a non-native app.

Mine has always been a fetch every 15 minutes. Unlike my Android devices which get it instantly, the iPhone has taken minutes.
