That's so weird! I have all my notifications settings turned on too in both the actual gmail app and then under the settings part of the app too. I checked my profiles and the only profile I have on there is the beta profile.

Yeah, I’m not sure what could be going on. It is pretty straightforward with the settings. Something messed up during an upgrade? Maybe. I don’t know.

So I opened up my iPad Pro and I’m not getting notifications on that gmail app either. I’ve trued erasing all and restoring backup. I don’t have anything pre 12.1 sadly. It can’t be an iPhone issue if it’s not working on my iPad either.

Just a another reason I am glad to dropped snooping google gmail a while back! I know that on personal accounts non-business g-suite accounts there was talking of them no longer offering push. I know on the native Apple mail that was stopped back in 2013. But if you had a business account or educational account it continued to work, but you couldn't set it up by going to Gmail and entering your credentials. You had to set it up as as an exchange account using. m.google.com or something like that.

Ya, honestly it's been working. Not one issue until yesterday. Still isn't fixed. I've tried erasing my phone, deleting the app, deleting my account. Nothing seems to fix it. Not sure what to do at this point.

GMAIL by native app hasn't pushed on the iPhone in a long time. Actually since 2013 that Google stopped supporting people with free accounts on a non-native app.

Mine has always been a fetch every 15 minutes. Unlike my Android devices which get it instantly, the iPhone has taken minutes.
That is the exact reason I stopped using the native iOS Mail app. Well that and the download limit. The Gmail app is much, much better. I get my emails pushed instantly, and I can search instantly for anything, even years back. And of course the interface is better as well.

You are probably going to have to ride it out till Google or Apple does an update. If you erased your phone that should have cleared any configuration issues. It makes no sense that all of sudden! I do hope you get it figured out. The company I work for uses MaSS360 by IBM to lock our company phones down and we access our email through it. For some unknown reason when I upgraded to iOS12. I no longer get sounds notifications. I do get the badge, but when I am busy I don't look at the phone screen and the sound would alert me. When I am out and about I have a little timer I use to alert me to check my email. IBM says the issue is with Apple and Apple says IBM needs to update their app. So we are stuck like chuck! :(

So update, started my new job today. Got my new work email setup via Gmail app. Pushes with no issues, instantly! Ugh but my personal email still won't come through for some reason.

Yea the Gmail app pushes but the iOS native app doesn’t.

Yes, I know this, but if you read above what my issue is in using the Gmail app and not getting push notifications for a specific email address that has always worked up till the other day. I had to install outlook for my personal email and use the Gmail app for my other 2. So annoying.

Yea it must be annoying. To me the Gmail app is too clunky although it will push. I can’t stand the Gmail app I like the iOS native mail app way better.

Ok the native app does push but only on WiFi. When I’m on cellular it doesn’t push. This is annoying and don’t know why it won’t push on cellular.

So weird update... I’ve been on my google wifi via their mesh router system. Randomly I decided to join my regular fios network and send an email to the email address I’ve had issues getting any notifications and it worked...instantly! So weird, I don’t know if using google wifi somehow blocked my email address from getting notifications somehow via the gmail app. It works now being on my regular wifi. Bizarre...

Gmail app is missing too many basics. No unified inbox for multiple gmail accounts; who wants to check each to figure out where the new mail is.

And you can only attach Google Drive files, no Dropbox or Ondrive (or Files integration). Even Apple is open enough to let you attach other files beyond iCloud in their mail app.

Well, it seems all my issues have been solved. After I realized it seemed to be a google wifi network issue I contacted them and they had me to do some troubleshooting as the google system wasn’t communicating with my regular fios. After about 20 mins I am back on the google wifi network on both my ipad and iPhone and getting notifications via the gmail app just like I was before all this started. Glad it’s finally resolved and hopefully this thread helps any others that may experience this over time.

Just use the Spark mail app. It's infinitely better than the Gmail app. Try and see for yourself.

Security issue, they store your mail on their servers for 4 hours. Professional ethics and many corporate policies you cannot do that as it's 3rd party access to email or subject yourself to known vulnerabilities with client data.
