The contents of the zip file (one file called app.icns which should look like a Mail icon) goes in....

/Applications/Mail.app/Contents/Resources

I'm pretty sure that should change the icon on the app. You may need to restart the dock.

I <3 Apple Mail. I use Mail for all my mail accounts, including my Gmail (which is actually a google apps account for my domain). It's lightweight, automatically checks for new messages so I get them as soon as possible instead of having to check a web page, I can archive things locally, and it integrates wonderfully with OS X (duh), address book, and my iPhone.

I was just wondering if the members of this forum use Apple Mail to manager their Gmail accounts. I would like to use it in the future when I switch to a Mac for my main machine, but one thing bothers me.

My only complaint deals with Gmail's way of handling POP accounts. Anytime I send an e-mail to myself, it will not show up in my POP E-mail application, but it will show up on Gmail's web based system. Any ideas?

I just started using Apple Mail for Gmail along with my Comcast account. So far it seems to be working fine. One great thing is that Gmail still catches most of the spam before it's downloaded by Mail. This is awesome!!

Yup, I use Apples' Mail.app. It works perfectly with my 8 Gmail accounts. I'd add more, but I don't really feel like it (and Yahoo wants you to pay to get pop support, lame!).

I've never had a problem using the Mail.app. It works very well and there are many options too.
