People seriously underestimate the power of brand identity and design. You might not care, or better, might think "you don't care", but those tiny changes sometimes have big impacts on brand recognition. Companies wouldn't be paying millions of dollars on research and design if all of it was "nonsense".

Are there desktop apps for the G Suite? I know some people use it instead of Office 365, but I never have. Or do they just use the apps in a web browser..?

It’s basically the web suite, but you can enable “Offline Mode” so you can still usem even if you’re... offline! You’d just need to make sure any Google format file you’d want to work on is also set to be available offline.
