Ugh. I have this problem constantly. I'm working on something full screen, then suddenly Mail opens up in split screen.![]()
I am a Mac User since the early 1990's. I have never seen this problem.
I tried that and it doesn't work. The issue remains as long as there's some kind of connection issue.Go to Mail Preferences --- General --- untick "prefer opening messages in split view when in full screen" -- and the problem will be solved.
You’re so lucky, dude. I’ve been dealing with this since Mavericks. Happened for about a month until I removed my old gmail and created a new one. Came back with vengeance in High Sierra and has been doing it since.I am a Mac User since the early 1990's. I have never seen this problem.
Why didn't he shut down all app before the test?
Ah. As far as I can remember, CMD-Q didn't make a difference. The app would launch by itself regardless. I think. Can anyone confirm this?
Because even when it is closed, it actually starts the app, and sets it to share the active screen in split mode, or even better: if the app doesn’t support split mode, it kicks you out of your desktop and displays the mail app fullscreen. Why didn't he shut down all app before the test?
It doesn’t. I’ve actually been contacted before from Apple.I’m pretty sure all feedback goes into a black hole at Apple.
An app specific password is simply a password that will not trigger a 2FA check, as some software cannot handle such implementations. This will exist alongside any current logins/passwords, and can be removed again at any point.I understand that there is a workaround using a app specific password - can I do that for macOS only or will that change the password for this account on all my other devices too?
