I stuck with my iPhone X for 3 years, which was the longest I ever had an iPhone model.
I‘m still very happy with it, and my wife will be very happy with it going forward, too, replacing her 7, which will be passed on to the kids.

Nevertheless, I went for the iPhone 12 Pro Max (256/Gold/AC+) and also ordered pretty much all available accessories (MagSafe Charger, Transparent and Leather case, Wallet and Belkin car mount) as I just love the iPad Pro - like design, the near-perfect camera(s) and the raw power of the A14.

I think this phone may even be more future-proof and last longer for me than my X, just as the iPad Pro 2018 will still be good for another at least 2-3 years.

These devices have reached a level of performance that makes it easy to keep them longer and longer.

I love it!

If size and weight aren’t an issue for you, then there is nothing better than 12 Pro Max, especially this year as it has a much better camera system, 6.7” real estate, and bigger battery.

I have used 12 Pro, and its battery doesn’t last a full day for power users. So myself has ordered a 12 Pro Max and returning the 12 Pro.

I would say going all-in is good if money isn’t an issue.

Hubby gets the biggest most expensive phone, wifey gets a 3 year old X from a 7 lol, sounds fair. No wonder you love it 😂

My wife‘s reaction to her opportunity to upgrade from her 7 was „Do I have to?“.
Fortunately, she doesn’t really care, but is looking forward to it now.

I chose the Gold for the 12PM primarily because it will be her phone eventually, and she loves Gold Apple devices. :)

And the X is still a very good phone!

i've ordered the 12 pro max. i like big phones and the bigger the battery the better!

my previous phone was 6.0" and i felt that was too small. i've compared the sizes and the 12 Pro Max should be about same size as my old phone so it shouldn't feel much different in my hand and of course i'm getting more screen space even with a notch!

I’m all in for the pacific blue pro max, upgrading from a xs max, the phone isn’t even here yet and I’ve already started buying accessories for the big boy. 🤦‍♂️😂

From a physics point of you, I truly doubt that the iPhone 12 Pro Max will hold on that Belkin car holder, especially using a case on top, but let us know 😉

From a physics point of view, the magnets in the original Apple cases should defy physics.

But they are so weak, even the wallet falls right off when you put it in your pocket. Also, I guess it depends on the car, but the vents on my car would pull the whole thing right downwards

I am currently using a magnetic holder for my X, with a metal plate between the phone and the case.
If MagSafe is working somewhat like that, I don‘t see a problem.

My Renault‘s vent grid is pretty firm, my wife‘s Hyundai‘s vents do the same your car‘s vents are doing.
Depends heavily on the car.

Silcone cases seem to hold better though in fairness

I did the same set up as you for my missus. Pro max with leather case, car mount, charger and wallet. Car mount look so chic although no wireless charging. ESR seems better function and I could not take eye soring design so went with belkin mount.

In all those notes, I am a bit tad worried for pro max to go with belkin mount whether the magnet of both combo leather case and car mount be strong enough to hold pro Max’s weight. Let’s see how it holds up when it arrives.

Congrats! Why did you order two cases? I placed a similar order but in Grapite. I also didn’t get the wallet but since playing with Apple’s new studio to mix and match cases and wallets, I’ll be getting one too 😝

Why did you order two cases?

I ordered the clear case with the phone and decided to check out the saddle brown case after the fact.
In the past, I exclusively used saddle brown leather cases because I love the way they age.
When the sb leather case on my X was through, I switched to a 3rd party silicone case and like the feel a lot, too.

Don‘t know yet which of the two will be my favorite, but I‘ll - for the first time - probably switch between them from time to time.

Well the leather is much easier on the hands in my opinion, the clear makes a huge heavy phone, well, feel even larger and heavier.

Anybody knows of an iPhone 12 Pro Max case with microphone and speaker anti dust covers?

The OtterBox Defender does, according to the description (no detail photo). But that thing's a tank (and I have an OtterBox on my current 8+).

Anyone going to use the MAX careless??
I have a Pitaka Air case ready and waiting for the 12 PM. It's one of the most minimal and lightest cases in the world. While providing grip at the same time.

I will see how I like the 12 PM case-less. My guess is that I will find that frosted glass back too slippery. I won't know until I handle it. I do think the SS sides however will be great to handle because they are flat and provide more grip than aluminum.

I am absolutely over using anything but a minimal case with large iPhones. I will have AC+ and a screen protector too.

Agreed. Doing the same. Kind off attached to my 12 pro now. Spent so much time putting in all the passwords but the battery is the deal breaker for me. If the reviews release tomorrow and say the differences are negligible I’ll keep this little guy. Love the size and one hand use.

I agree I think it’s the weight and the slight increase in size that is going to concern me about the new Max. I have always had big phones but they’re getting heavier every year . My max arrives on Friday but if the weight increase is noticeable then I will return for a pro
